The Carrier Infinity 98, also known as the 59MN7, is a variable-speed condensing gas furnace with an efficiency rating of up to 98.5% AFUE. It is designed for flexible, multi-position installation, including upflow, downflow and horizontal. The Infinity 98 is Energy Star qualified and Hybrid Heat compatible when combined with an Infinity heat pump and Infinity Touch control. The Infinity Touch control also monitors the system and allows remote management. The Infinity 98 has a corrosion-resistant aluminized steel primary heat exchanger and a stainless steel fin-and-tube secondary heat exchanger. An insulated cabinet reduces heat loss and combines with the unit's variable-speed operation to provide operating sound levels as low as 38.4 decibels.
As I am a hvac Tech, I installed this furnace and heat pump on my own. From experience I would say that 90% of issues with any brand furnace is caused by poor installation and set up. With that said, that is why I installed the system my self. In my opinion, this is the best furnace on the market. It is efficient, easy to install and more importantly, very easy to service and maintain. The furnace has been installed for 3 seasons now and has been flawless. It is firing on propane with no issues. Installation is simple and set up also very easy. Have the Infinity touch control, highly recommend that this control be used with the Infinity series as it does give superior operation as compared to a standard thermostat and makes set up and commissioning so much easier and complete. If you have any furnace installed, make sure you have a responsible dealer install it as stated above, the install and set up quality will make or break your confidence in any furnace.
"STAY AWAY from CARRIER Furnace, especially from COZY COMFORT Plus"
If you want to receive a defective Carrier furnace and accept that they have the right to refuse to replace a defective Carrier furnace even it is a new furnace that stopped running only one hour after installation, then go and buy a Carrier. Besides, read the back of your agreement carefully. Please please do not spend big money to get more headache like I experienced with their dealer and even with Carrier’s head office in Canada and in the USA.
