The easy to remove control panel allows for easy servicing, and the gas, water, and electrical connections are all made from the left side of the boiler. The Alpine comes in seven models, ranging in size from 80,000 to 500,000 BTU's, and can be converted from natural gas to LP gas with the turn of a screw.
I installed an ALP150 gas boiler which has the same problems as the previous review. I spoke to technical support and they told me the boiler has to be set up with special equipment to eliminate this fog horn condition. As the previous review said, they tried everything to eliminate this noise to no avail. I've installed many boiler and never had this problem.

"Very disappointed: the boiler is a lemon"
I've owned the boiler a little over a year. For the first several months it kept shutting itself down with error messages until the heating contractor installed a new control panel. Then it ran until it was just out of warranty and now they can't get it to go at all. The manufacturer claimed it was the gas valve, but that didn't fix it. Even though it is practically new, I'm considering buying another boiler from a different company. This Burnham is a lemon.
I've replaced a very old Burnham gas boiler in my home last year. I think it was about 30 years old. The new one is Alpine series and have been very happy with it. It appears my fuel bill is reduced by over 40%. I get my hot water from one of their water heaters and now we always have enough. Very happy with performance and installation.
I converted from oil to a gas Burnham alpine two years ago. I'm very impressed with the performace and have cut my oil bill in half. It's run flawlessly!
Online reviews of the Alpine are generally positive. Reviewers on doityourself.com commented on the reduced heating bill and quiet operation since installing an Alpine. Members on several sites, including brownstoner.com, remark that the Alpine is a good, efficient unit, but also note the difficulty of installation.
Product registration is required within 90 days of installation for maximum warranty coverage. The Alpine boiler is covered by a 5-year parts and labor warranty used in a residential application. The plan covers all Burnham-provided parts and the associated labor costs.
