"Class action lawsuit"
Will be contacting New Hampshire Attorney General to issue complaint as well as legal counsel to initiate a Class Action Lawsuit against Buderus and Bosch ThermoTechnology Corp (BTC) and I am amazed it's taken this long for a case to be filed. GB142 system has been a problem since installation 1 year ago (2 defective heating elements) and neither Budurus nor Bosch will honor warranties provided upon purchase of my system installed by a Budurus qualified contractor. Any company who has a license to sell and or service products in the US, has a legal obligation to provide a good that is free of defects unless noted otherwise in terms on purchase receipt and when providing a warranty, honor the terms of that warranty. These 2 companies, Budurus and BTC, must be held accountable for the defective products Budurus has sold and the refusal to honor the warranties provided with purchased products.
"Garbage shit from day one"
They sell this crap up here in Ontario but nobody has a clue how to install or service them. Constant codes going off, doesn't heat all floors, is leaking all the time. The old one they took out was 100 times better. The only thing they have going for them is the efficiency but that's offset by problems and repairs.
"Great boiler so far"
I had the Buderus GB142-45 installed in November 2011. So far it has worked perfectly for five winters. It is extremely quiet and very efficient. My gas consumption has been halved from the previous 45-year-old boiler. I've had the yearly required maintenance and cleaning done. Be sure to inquire about the contractor's knowledge/certification on the Buderus GB142, as I've found it is a complex computerized piece of equipment. At this point I highly recommend this unit.
"Lousy boiler, lousy company"
We had this boiler installed in March 2010 for $12,000. We were willing to pay the price because we were told that it was a state-of-the-art, super efficient, very reliable system. We complied with the mandatory annual maintenance, even going so far as having the system pulled apart and thoroughly cleaned in April 2014 for $400. Ten months later, in February 2016, the entire aluminum heat exchanger burnt up. We had to call the fire department and go without heat for four days (here in Massachusetts). The replacement cost: $2300. Buderus refuses to honor their warranty and has blamed the installation for the failure, despite the system's having been installed by one of their own certified installers. They will not talk to us as Buderus will only speak to a "technician" (read: plumber). We have had to pay our plumber to provide the information Buderus has demanded. BOTTOM LINE: Avoid this company and their miserable products like the plague. They do not honor their warranty, ever. (Our plumber, who sells many Buderus boilers every year, confirms this.)
I have spent more dollars in repairs and maintenance on this boiler in the last 6 years than I paid for the boiler. It is a piece of junk, do not buy.
