The Bryant Preferred Plus 95i is a discontinued two-stage gas furnace with an efficiency rating of 95% AFUE. The unit earned the Energy Star label and featured the Perfect Heat system, which operated on low-stage heating up to 90% of the time for more even heat distribution, greater efficiency and dehumidification. It had a corrosion-resistant aluminized primary heat exchanger and a laminated secondary heat exchanger, as well as a variable-speed inducer motor. The cabinet was fully insulated, with foil-faced insulation in the heat exchanger section to decrease heat loss and double insulation in the blower section to reduce noise levels.

Other Preferred Plus 95i Reviews
A homeowner on hvac-talk.com asked for opinions on the Plus 95i and a Rheem modulating unit. The majority of reviewers preferred the Rheem, mostly because it's a modulating furnace, with only one or two going with the Plus 95i. There is another post on hvac-talk.com from a homeowner wondering if the Preferred Plus 95i is compatible with a Bryant Evolution control. There were mixed answers to this, with some members saying it is and one saying that if it is a newer unit (2010 or 2011) it is not compatible.
