Reviews by Air Conditioner Series

Legacy Line Evolution 561C Preferred 556A Quantum Plus

All Bryant AC units run on electricity. They are also split-system air conditioners, meaning part of the unit goes inside your home, while the other part goes outside. Both of these parts connect to the ductwork inside your home, which provides pathways for fresh air to circulate.

Bryant air conditioner series and models

The company offers three series of air conditioners — Legacy, Preferred, and Evolution. Each series has various models with different features. When you’re shopping for an air conditioner, there are several factors to consider to ensure you get the right one for your needs.

One of the most important features to consider when looking for a new air conditioner is efficiency. The Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) rating indicates an AC unit’s energy efficiency. Typically, efficiency goes up with the cost of the unit, so you may spend more upfront but save money on energy bills in the long run. The lowest SEER rating on modern air conditioners is 13 and the highest is 23. However, certain hot regions of the United States require a SEER of 14 or more.

Legacy Series – 113A Model

The Legacy Series contains Bryant’s most affordable models, and they all operate on single-stage compressors. The 113A model is the least expensive but also has the lowest SEER rating at 13, which won’t meet the minimum requirements in some parts of the United States. These units weigh between 1.5 and 5 tons and measure 23.13  x 23.13 x 25.31 inches.

Legacy Series – 106A Model

This unit has a SEER rating of 16. You can control Legacy Series units using the Côr 7C or 5C Thermostat, which is a smart thermostat that allows for remote access and monitoring. The unit weighs between 1.5 and 5 tons and measures between 25 3/4 x 25 5/16 inches and 35 x 45 11/16 inches.

Preferred Series – 127A Model

In the Preferred Series, you can choose between single-stage and two-stage operations. However, only the highest tier of Preferred units – the 127A – has a two-speed motor. The 127A has a 17 SEER rating. To control the Preferred Series air conditioners, you can add on the Housewise Wi-Fi Thermostat, which allows for wireless operation and energy tracking.

The 127A model measures between 31 3/16 x 35 1/2 inches and 35 x 38 7/8 inches and weighs between 2 and 5 tons.

Evolution Series – 186B Model

The Evolution Series features six models, including the 186B, which weighs between 1.5 and 5 tons and has a SEER rating up to 16. The single-stage unit operates between 18,000 and 60,000 BTUh and measures between 31 3/16 x 28 11/16 inches and 35 x 47 3/16 inches.

Evolution Series – 180C Model

Units get much quieter when you opt for variable-speed air conditioners like the 180C. This model has a SEER rating of up to 20.5 and a decibel level of 58, which is a bit quieter than conversational speech

Evolution Series models also come with Evolution Connex Control System. This system allows you to use the MyEvolution app to operate your air conditioner. Additionally, Evolution Series models work with the AeroQuiet System II, making for a quieter operation. This model measures 35 x 43 13/16 inches.

Bryant air conditioner pricing

The cost of a Bryant air conditioner depends on the size. The smallest 1.5-ton AC unit costs around $1,200 for the unit and $2,300 for installation. For a 3-ton system, you’ll pay about $1,600 for the unit and $2,882 for installation. The 5-ton AC costs around $2,500 for the unit and $3,800 for installation.

Other factors, such as the difficulty of the installation, the efficiency of the air conditioner, and the size of your home, can affect the price. Call a local HVAC professional for a more accurate estimate.

Care and maintenance

Bryant offers routine maintenance advice for homeowners looking to keep their air conditioner in top condition. First, keep the filter clean since a clogged filter will shorten the life of the machine. You should also be sure not to cover your outdoor unit; it needs unrestricted airflow for optimal performance.

Periodically check the condensate drain for any blockages and clean the coil on your indoor unit. Schedule twice-yearly maintenance calls with your local HVAC professional so they can diagnose and fix any small problems before they worsen.

Bryant air conditioner warranties

Bryant offers a 10-year limited warranty on the compressor and parts upon registration. To get this warranty, you must register within 90 days, or your warranty will decrease to five years. Ask your technician for possible extended warranties on things like labor.
