The Bosch Greenstar is a gas condensing boiler with an efficiency rating of up to 96.1% AFUE. All models of the Greenstar series are Energy Star rated. The Greenstar features a wall-hung design and is available as a space heating boiler with a hot water tank or as a combi unit. It features an Al-Si heat exchanger made of Aluminum-Silicon alloy, and combi units are equipped with a stainless steel heat exchanger. A fully modulating fan assembly helps to increase the unit’s efficiency. All models are available for use with LP or natural gas, with a conversion kit included.
We had the Bosch Greenstar Combi 151 installed two months ago, as part of a conversion from oil to gas. So far we are very pleased with the purchase and installation. The unit is very quiet – you can stand next to it when running and really have to listen to hear any sound. Our home has three zones, and the installer used Grundfos circulator pumps, one for each zone, which are also very quiet. We were a bit concerned going from using a 50-gallon hot water heater to the combi on-demand unit, but have been very pleased with the quantity and temperature of hot water provided by the Greenstar. Water is hot – have had to dial it down a bit. Long hot showers are no problem. Will report if we have any issues going forward, but so far very pleased with the Greenstar.

"Review of my Bosch whole house boiler"
I have lived in my current house for 4 months only now but the boiler was newly installed shortly before I moved in, in early 2015. I really like the size and quietness of the boiler. I know that it is a somewhat small boiler and I notice that if I fill my bathtub up all the way and my husband takes a shower right after that he starts getting colder water near the end of the shower but it's definitely just because the smaller capacity model is the one that we have. We haven't had any issues or had to replace it yet. But if it did break or we needed a new one after a few years I don't think I would purchase anything other than a Bosch. It is a really nice and sleek boiler. Bosch boilers are the best on the market in my opinion.
"The coldest winter"
I purchased my Bosch boiler for my new home few months back. I expected it to be up to the expectations that I had. Given the fact that all my friends with thier own homes got similar models I was very hopeful. It disappointed me completely. There were many repairs during this period. It's almost 8 months now since the purchase. My electricity bills went up a lot and there was not enough heat. During not so harsh winters too, we felt cold because of the bad quality of boiler. I would never refer this to anybody I know . The customer service was extremely poor, they were always in a hurry to hang up the call. It has been a nightmare for me. They have come a number of times and gave me a temporary fix to the issue but it comes up again in a matter of days. It gave me a tough time as I have to take leave from work for every visit of theirs. It was a huge financial loss for me ever since I got this boiler home.

"An excellent boiler for the money"
I have owned this boiler going on four years now. I really enjoy it because it never fails to provide me with hot water when I need it, but at the same time it takes up very little space, is very economic, and is very energy efficient. This reduces the negative impact on the environment significantly. Although I have never had to use it, the 10 year lifetime warranty and 5 year parts warranty provides me peace of mind. I have never had a single part break, or need servicing in the time that I've owned it. If this boiler were to break, I would definitely not hesitate to order a replacement from Bosch. If one of my friends or relatives were in the market for a new boiler I would not hesitate to recommend Bosch to them. I have had nothing but good experiences with them, and I look forward to at least another four fantastic years with my current boiler.

"My boiler has been very dependable for my family's home."
I have owned my boiler for almost two years now and I am very satisfied with the way that it works. It is easy to operate and never causes my family stress. If I had to make a complaint about it, I would have to say that even though I think it works amazingly, my wife believes that it does not always heat the water to the temperature that she wants it to be at. We have never had to repair it, but after about a year, one day it seemed to have stopped working. So we went to take a look and it shut off by itself and all we had to do was turn it back on and get it going again. I would recommend this product to a friend because for me it works incredible and I would probably want to try a different brand if this one stops working. Just to be safe rather than sorry.
In comparisons on hvac-talk.com between the Greenstar and similar units by Weil-McLain, Buderus and Triangle Tube, there were several positive comments about the Bosch unit. The majority of professionals appear to prefer the other units, but not by a large margin.
