Corporate History
In 1929 Oscar Bock established a manufacturing company which soon produced oil burners and eventually oil-fired water heaters. As the company grew Oscar Bock was succeeded by his eldest son, Robert, who was succeeded by youngest son John. Today Bock Water Heaters, Inc. manufactures oil, gas, electric, solar and geothermal water heaters.

In 2001, ownership of Bock was transferred to employees via an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Under this plan, the company is 100% employee owned and every employee is a shareholder.
Product Lines
Bock’s oil-fired water heaters are available with capacities from 20 to 271 gallons and BTU/HR ratings of 60,000 to 1,500,000. Gas units are available in condensing high-efficiency, atmospheric, and Power Vent models. Dual-fuel water heaters, which are fueled by gas and oil, are available in 150-, 200- and 250-gallon capacities. Gas, oil, and dual fuel water heaters feature the Turboflue helical finned heat exchanger, which is designed to conduct more heat into water.
Bock’s line of Solar/Geo-Thermal water heaters includes the EnviroStor Solar-Thermal unit, with 30 and 110 gallon capacities, and the Solar/Gas Hybrid water heater, which provides solar-thermal water heating with a natural gas or propane backup.
Warranty
The warranty on Bock water heaters varies according to the model, with most units covered by either a 3-year or 5-year warranty. The EnviroStor Solar-Thermal and Solar/Gas Hybrid unit both have a 6 year residential tank and heat exchanger warranty.
