Corporate History
Baxi was founded in 1866 by Richard Baxendale. It was not until the 1930s, however, that the first product bearing the Baxi brand name, an “underfloor” heating system, was launched. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Baxi developed gas heating solutions and concentrated on the domestic market. Today, Baxi is the leading brand of the Baxi Group, and the company is one of the largest European boiler manufacturers.
In 2009, the Baxi Group and the De Dietrich Remeha Group merged to form BDR Thermea.
Product Lines
Among its boilers, Baxi offers both gas-fired and biomass fueled products that it says offer reliability and high efficiency.
Gas boilers are available as combi, heat-only, and system units. Many of these options are designed for a small footprint. Other systems, including the Duo-tech combi and Megaflo system boilers, feature the company’s THINK combustion management system. THINK monitors the flow of air and gas through the boilers to continually adjust the heat output for optimum efficiency.
In addition, the Baxi Bioflo is a pellet-burning boiler geared toward heating small spaces in homes where gas is not available as a fuel option. The manufacturer touts the product’s 94 percent fuel efficiency, low energy consumption, fully modulating burner and simple operation.
Warranty
All Baxi products carry at least a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty; certain products are guaranteed for up to 2 years. The parts and labor warranty covers the cost of any repairs from product defects. Registration is required to receive the full warranty terms. At the end of the warranty period, Baxi offers an extended warranty option on its products. In addition, as part of the service offered, domestic boiler breakdown coverage is available.
