The Armstrong Air 4SHP13LE is a single-stage heat pump with efficiency ratings of up to 14 SEER and 7.7 HSPF. A bi-directional filter drier provides system protection, while a grommet-mounted compressor, heavy-duty compressor blanket and discharge muffler help reduce sound levels to as low as 73 dBA. The coil is constructed of enhanced aluminum fins and rifled copper tubing for increased efficiency, while controls, gauge ports and service valves are easily accessible for quick installation and service. A galvanized steel louvered cabinet with a baked polyester paint finish provides protection from the elements, and a raised base pan with ports prevents corrosion by allowing water drainage.
"Terrible unit. Had one for 8 years and nothing but trouble, would not honor warranty"
1.0 rating
Very Unsatisfied
Terrible from the beginning. Purchased an extended warranty for 10 years. When the first 5 years were up, the installing company was sold and I was left with no warranty. The warranty company had been sold with no one to honor it. The unit has leaks and is in constant need of repair. Spent over $800 this year alone. It was installed in 2007.

"Has not Met Expectations"

Has not met expectations as an efficient unit, only 5 + years old and the outside coil is leaking and must be replaced. Part to be replaced is warranty covered but labor cost is as much as new unit. Company I bought heat pump from, no longer carries this brand. Would not purchase again!!!!

"Hate My Heat Pump"
1.0 rating
Very Unsatisfied
Our 15-year-old heat pump died at the same time that my husband found out he was losing his job (February 2008). Our heating repair guy talked us into getting the Armstrong system, which was cheaper and less energy efficient than other brands ("the higher efficiency is so much more expensive that it would take you years to recoup the cost). After 2 years, the compressor went bad and cost $620 to repair. Last month's electric bill was $358, which starting me watching the heating system. Now it quit working again – repairman comes out tomorrow to look at it. Definitely a lemon. I'm ready to scrap it and get a better, high efficiency brand.

"We Purchased Our Home in 2009"
1.0 rating
Very Unsatisfied
We purchased our home in 2009, a new home just built. We have had nothing but trouble out of the heat-pump unit. The fist year we had to replace a relay board for the heater. This year the Air Conditioner went out. I was told they had to order a valve to fix that problem. The unit is only 3 years old. I would not recommend this unit to anyone.
