Corporate History

Armstrong was founded as Armstrong Furnace in 1928 by the Lennox Furnace Co. In 1957 Lennox sold Armstrong, but then reacquired what was then known as Armstrong Air Conditioning Inc. in 1988. The company today manufactures its products in Orangeburg, S.C., while its headquarters in Lexington County, S.C., include a 40,000-square-foot research and development facility.

Armstrong sells variable speed and multi-stage gas furnaces reaching up to 97% AFUE (the A97MV). Single- and multi-stage oil furnaces also are available in 83% and 85% AFUE models. The company also offers several Energy Star-rated central air conditioners and heat pumps, as well as more cost-effective standard options.

All Armstrong heating products are covered by a 10-year parts and limited lifetime heat exchanger warranty. All other products are eligible for a 10-year parts warranty. Online product registration is required within 60 days of purchase or the warranty will default to a 5-year parts warranty and a 20-year heat exchanger warranty.
