"Poor installation by contractors"
I've been reading the reviews on the ARCOAIRE equipment. Yes, it is owned by Carrier, which is owned by United Technologies. The customers that are very happy with the equipment have excellent installers! The customer that hates the product has a very poor installer! The customer that is burning up blower motors is having a problem with duct design. (I.e. Static pressure in the duct system that will in time burn out motors. It's not the equipment, it's the installer that doesn't know what the heck he's doing! The person that's having the AC problem also goes back to installation. If the air flow is not correct, then the Freon pressures will not be correct and the tech is trying to bandaid the problem with a hard start kit. So you see, it's not the equipment! Get a good tech and installer. One that sits down and sizes your house! This means everything. How many people are in the house, the lights, size of rooms, insulation, even the trees that shade the house! The direction the home faces. Everything. Then you won't have a problem! I've been in this business for 30 years and yet to have a complaint!! Yes, it costs more, but It's worth the time. Any contractor that walks in and says' yup you need a 100,000 btu furnace and a 2.5 ton AC unit without doing any figuring is stupid!!! He's out to get in your pocket big time! I hope you all understand what I'm saying. It will save you money in the long run.
"Too hot to try!!!"
It has gone out every year for two years, (I have only had it for two years). More than unsatisfied!!!
"Disappointing Performance"
Our Arcoaire unit is only 3 years old. It is used in a vacation home so the actual run time on the unit is very low. We had to have a costly night- time, weekend, emergency replacement of a capacitor that failed. This is not the way anyone wants to start a vacation getaway in Arizona's summer heat. Our general contractor chose this unit as part of a remodel. I'm sorry I didn't do more research because had I read these reviews earlier, I would have purchased a different model. Can't wait to see what breaks down next!
"Poor craftsmanship"
These units are poorly designed I have had to replace my fan motor 3 x in 5 years no one would offer me any kind of warranty whatsoever said it was out of warranty by a month one time at $350 a pop for the motors to $600 depending on what mood they're in I can't afford to keep putting motors in it advise you to stay away from this product
"Air conditioner repair"
Arco air conditioner company came to our home to repair the unit. Air works great, but it never turns off! We have called several times and only get the run around from them. They charged a total of $239.00, no new parts. I just want help!
