Williams Furnace Company makes residential and commercial heating, air conditioning and ventilation products. Williams is a subsidiary of Continental Materials Corporation and is headquartered in Colton, California. Continental Materials Corporation had sales of approximately $121 million in 2013.
Williams was founded in 1916 as a manufacturer of gas steam radiators by Jesse Williams under the name Williams Radiator Company. By 1954, the company was selling and distributing its products throughout the United States. In 1958, the renamed Williams Furnace Company was acquired by Continental Materials Corporation. The Company acquired a manufacturer of fan coils and air handlers, Hydro-Aire/LANCO, in 1986. In 1996, the company further expanded its product line to include vent-free heaters and room console heaters.
Williams furnaces differ from a central heating system because they are not attached to room ducts. Williams furnaces are mounted on a wall or free-standing and are designed to heat the entire home or zones inside the home.
The Williams line of direct vent natural gas and propane furnaces comes in 14,000, 22,000 and 30,000 Btu/hr. sizes. These units use no electricity and can be used during power outages. Williams also offers a line of low profile, high-efficiency direct vent gas furnaces, as well as floor furnaces and garage furnaces.
