Post created: 2013-05-21 Type of Equipment: Furnace Views: 89

I have 2 am standard heat pumps. Installed 3

The am standard contractor that

Installed units o have many pits of my crawlspace

A professional inspection etc. I also have a 10 year warrent

On both units & cannot find a local am standard dealer

Contractor to come & repair error 113, flashing

At thermostate. Repair shorty ductwork company did

Clean & replace filters etc....etc.... Please advise

ASAP I've been dealing with this serious issue

For 3-4 years. Contractor has been notified many

Times. He lies makes excuses & refuses to do

Anything about the unsafe way he wired units

Etc...,.etc....I cannot afford an attorney

I have documents photos professional

Home inspection reflecting all allegations

Against contractor ...& these are just a very

Few of the serious dangerous & costly problems

Caused by am standard contractor who installed

2 new heat pumps etc... In my

home sept 2009

Thanks

Hi Kay,

Sorry you are having so many problems with your system. In terms of the contractor that you think did poor work you could try the Better Business Bureau. In terms of getting a qualified contractor to come out you can go here and look for certified HVAC contractors in your area: http://www.furnacecompare.com/perl/find_contractors.pl.

You can also go here to the American Standard website where they have a find a dealer function. You can also call them and they should help you out. You may also want to register a complaint with them regarding the contractor you are unhappy with.

Hope this helps.

To keep legal happy, let me just say that I am not an HVAC contractor, and you should never even look at your furnace without having a qualified, liability accepting HVAC contractor present.  To keep sales happy, let me just say that you can find an HVAC contractor that's happy to take your money here: http://www.furnacecompare.com/perl/find_contractors.pl.
