We don't have ratings for this brand of AC unit, but you can find the top rated brands that we rate here: http://www.furnacecompare.com/ac_ratings.html.
Sometimes brands like Ameristar are made by a larger manufacture that also manufactures a more well known brand. So Trane and Ameristar may be made by the same manufacturer. The difference being that Ameristar is a less expensive unit that is less efficient and has fewer features. There may also be a big difference with the warranty, Trane has a better one for example.
So I would look at the difference in the warranty, which is important, as well as efficiency and features. What you save initially with the less expensive brand may be lost due to lower efficiency.
Also, what really matters is that the system is properly sized to your home and you get the best install possible. If the difference in the furnace between Ameristar and Trane, for example is $500, and the Trane is more efficient and you get a good install you will make up that difference quickly. You should also seek more than one bid. You may see a variety in cost and what you perceive to be the quality of the contractor.
To keep legal happy, let me just say that I am not an HVAC contractor, and you should never even look at your furnace without having a qualified, liability accepting HVAC contractor present. To keep sales happy, let me just say that you can find an HVAC contractor that's happy to take your money here: http://www.furnacecompare.com/perl/find_contractors.pl.
I also want to add that I am not trying to push one brand or the other, just make you aware of the variables you need to consider.

Ameristar is a cheaper brand with less features, but is not rated the same as a trane or american standard but all brands are manufactured by the same company.
trane and american standard is kind of like ford and a mercury.
