I have a Freedom 90 American Standard Furnace that is 16 years old. It developed a small leak under the heat exchanger from the condensed water. I have been told I need a new furnace. The system has been well maintained and still looks new. How can American Standard make a system that discharges corrosive water use a heat exchanger that is not corrosion resistant to that water? Shouldn't American Standard warrant this?
