Weil McLain has a very good reputation for their boilers, but they can be expensive. I have seen their higher end systems advertised for more than $3,000 and as much as $6,000. Beyond that there is Buderus, Viessman, Dunkirk and Burnham.
I would add that beyond finding a good brand, you need to find a great HVAC tech to install it. Most problems with furnaces, heat pumps and boilers occur because they are improperly sized to the heat load of the house or improperly installed. They also may need some tweaking once they are running so you want someone who is talented and reliable and will come back and do the additional adjustments to get it right.
To keep legal happy, let me just say that I am not an HVAC contractor, and you should never even look at your furnace without having a qualified, liability accepting HVAC contractor present. To keep sales happy, let me just say that you can find an HVAC contractor that's happy to take your money here: http://www.furnacecompare.com/perl/find_contractors.pl.

Thanks! I will check out the contractor search you provided. I have had several contractors quote me the same mfrs you listed, but the review forums were overwhelmingly bad for most of them. Maybe I can ask the contractors if they will install a better-rated brand?
