That's a 23 year old unit, which in terms of HVAC equipment means that it is probably fairly outdated. This means that what worked to heat and cool your home in 1990 will be far more than you need now. Furnaces and ACs are now far more efficient than they were in the early 90s, which means a smaller unit can create far more heat and cooling power than your older unit. They also are quite a bit quieter since there have been a range of improvements.
As to brand, International Comfort Products manufactures a number of furnace brands, most of which have a range of models with varying efficiency and consumer ratings. Bryant is a generally highly regarded brand. For either you should be able to find a quality product, though I think since ICP represents a number of brands that it is hard to pinpoint one that would work best for you.
The key is to understand what you are looking for in an HVAC unit, what efficiency you are looking for and what you are willing to pay, and that you properly size the unit.
