I have had this for 10 years. The tech wants $340 to replace the motor capaciter which measures 8.5 mfd and should be 10 mfd.

In terms of the price, it may be high (seems high), but the only way to be sure is call a couple of other VAC techs and ask them for a quote. This shouldn't be hard to do.
