We have a wide flucuation range in temperature with the York Affinity 98% furnace we had installed in 2012. We have had the dealer move the thermostate to a differenct location at his request but doesn't seem to help muchPost created: 2013-02-20 Type of Equipment: Furnace Views: 229

Installed Nov.10,2011. Problem from start was wide flucuations in room temperature ( stat set to 69 degrees) it would feel quite cool in house until furnace would come on and then feel very warm when finished and keep repeating this cycle. Dealer suggest we move new high end york stat to different location but did not really seem to help too much. We now feel it again this winter 2013 and never felt this kind of flucuation with old lennox standard furnace.

It may be that the furnace is not properly sized to the house or there is a problem with the thermostat itself. Since it sounds like the furnace isn't getting a call to heat until it is too cold and not shutting off at the right set point it may be the thermostat.
To keep legal happy, let me just say that I am not an HVAC contractor, and you should never even look at your furnace without having a qualified, liability accepting HVAC contractor present. To keep sales happy, let me just say that you can find an HVAC contractor that's happy to take your money here: http://www.furnacecompare.com/perl/find_contractors.pl.
