My two-stage, direct-vent Lennox furnace was installed in October, 2012. With colder weather it ran more often and longer, and began making multiple noises. I called the installer and a technician came out; he discovered it had been installed as a single-stage furnace. He also said it had shut down once because it had detected two much back pressure in the duct work. He re-wired the furnace and some noise was eliminated but it is still randomly noisy, mostly when it shuts down. There can be serious vibration, which can be hear on the first floor, but not every time. I wrote to Lennox headquarters but they have not answered my questions. Model EL296UHV.

What causes the vibration on shutdown and what can I do to eliminate it?

Thx
