Hard to say what exactly it could be without more information. For example, in some furnaces a seriously dirty filter can impede proper function, but it could also be an electrical problem of some sort.

However, if you go to page 45 of this installation guide (http://www.docs.hvacpartners.com/idc/groups/public/documents/techlit/im-pg8j-05.pdf) it has a chart to help with troubleshooting a whole range of problems. It will also help you understand the various fault or error codes communicated on the LED display.

It very likely may turn out that you need to speak with a certified HVAC tech in order to properly diagnose and fix the problem. By going through the above troubleshooting guide you will hopefully be able to offer more information to the HVAC tech and get a better sense of what it will require to fix the problem.

You may also find some helpful information on this comment string, which offers advice to someone who sounds to be having a similar problem: http://archives.hvacmechanic.com/archives/18755.

To keep legal happy, let me just say that I am not an HVAC contractor, and you should never even look at your furnace without having a qualified, liability accepting HVAC contractor present.  To keep sales happy, let me just say that you can find an HVAC contractor that's happy to take your money here: http://www.furnacecompare.com/perl/find_contractors.pl.
