The Lennox Pulse furnace had a large recall in the 1990s due to serious leaks in the heat exchanger. A cracked heat exchanger is a serious problem because of the risk of dangerous gasses leaking into the living area of a home. If your unit is still working fine today, chances are it was not affected by the recall. Still, it would be a good idea to have it inspected by a qualified heating tech, just to make sure everything is in safe working order. If all looks good and you are pleased with the performance of the furnace, there's no reason to replace it until necessary.

I have a pulse furnace that is 31 years old and still works well. The heat exchanger was replaced in 1995 but otherwise very little maintenance. I decided to replace it and asked the local dealer for a quote on a new one. He talked me out of it saying these furnaces last forever. I live in Manitoba so it gets lots of use.
