The first question is are you getting an error code on the LED indicator? Also, what do you mean by attempting to fire up? Is it making any noise?

Without more info it is very hard to say what the cause could be (everything from no gas to malfunctioning thermostat, or anything in between the two. Or maybe just a service and cleaning).

Probably worth checking the LED error code indicator to see how many flashes you are getting (see your owner's manual). This will give at least a hint as to what the problem is. However, it is more than likely you will need an HVAC tech to come out and run a diagnostic and fix the problem. Best.

To keep legal happy, let me just say that I am not an HVAC contractor, and you should never even look at your furnace without having a qualified, liability accepting HVAC contractor present.  To keep sales happy, let me just say that you can find an HVAC contractor that's happy to take your money here: http://www.furnacecompare.com/perl/find_contractors.pl
