Why does my furnace sometimes take hours to switch to second stage?

I have had this furnace for over 8 years now and in the last 3 years, it seems to take a long time to switch to the second stage, therefore the temperature can fluctuate 10 to 15 degrees.

One of the most common causes of this problem is a stuck pressure switch, which will not send enough power for the correct ignition sequence. Another possibility is a problem with the furnace control board.

Because fixing the problem deals with electricity, it's usually a good ideal to have it done by a professional.  If you'd like to have a contractor take a look at this, we can help you find one, here.
