WHAT IS THE MANFACTURER PART NUMBER FOR THE CONTROL MODULE FOR THE CARRIER 58PAVPost created: 2015-01-30 Type of Equipment: Furnace Views: 366
This question was created on the page: https://www.furnacecompare.com/furnaces/carrier/58pav.html.
Furnace must be switched on 2 or 3 times in order for the ignitor to power up and start heating. Otherwise the fan just runs.
This is a Carrier 58PAV
Temporarily tried a new thermostat with same results.
Control module was replaced a few years ago by a serivice provider.
Unit is 19 years old. Problem first appeared about a week or so ago.

You might check to see if the inducer motor/fan is creating enough draft to energize the control.

Will check but it likely does. There id so much draft that it blows out the flame of a long butane lighter.
Something I didn't think of mentioning, once the furnace flames on it continues to work the rest of the night switching on and heating as it should till the evening setting is done for the night.
Then in the morning - no heat again.
Thank you for replying.

need to read your trouble code on the control unit to identify which sensor loop may be going open before ignition.
