Overview of the PSH4BG
The Maytag PSH4BG heat pump features an efficiency rating of up to 19 SEER and 10 HSPF and utilizes IQ Drive technology to increase efficiency and provide consistent temperature and humidity levels. The unit's inverter-driven rotary compressor offers modulating operation from a two-stage thermostat and is protected by high and low pressure switches and a field-installed liquid line filter drier. A compressor sound blanket, discharge muffler, composite base pan and swept-wing fan blades help keep operating sound levels as low as 58 decibels. Copper tube/aluminum fin coils offers increased heat transfer, and a demand defrost which improves efficiency by defrosting only when necessary. A two-digit LED control board provides diagnostic troubleshooting information, while hinge access panels and a removable to grille assembly are designed to make servicing the unit easier. A stainless steel cabinet with a polyester urethane finish protects the PSH4BG from weather hazards and features 950 hour salt spray protection against rust and corrosion.

"Flawless So Far After One year"
We have gone through one cooling and one heating season here in Central PA. So far, the entire system has worked flawlessly. We have two units; one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Both units have run with no problems. Installers did an outstanding job. From all accounts during my research, installation is more important than the units themselves. So find yourself a dependable HVAC installer. I'll update with any updates if anything changes.

"Very pleased with options"
Pro's - very quiet 59 decibels - allows five variable speed heat pump changes with existing 2 stage gas furnace blower - went through March heating in Portland, Oregon with avg of 2-3 hrs per day at lowest level of staging. Hardly ever calls for second stages. Integrated well with existing Bryant I90 gas furnace. Con's - the models that have the inverter are more expensive for all brands of heat pumps
