"Lennox 14HPX Heat Pump Review"
We've owned this heat pump for the past 5 years and it's never failed! The past few winters in the Northeast have been brutally cold, dipping below freezing quite often. Regardless, it keeps working! We've also saved a ton of money by using the built-in automated temperature settings to lower the heat during different times of the day. My only complaint is when it kicks on, it pushes air through the vents really loud.

"Don't buy Lennox"
Had a Lennox heat pump installed in 2010 for a large room over garage. Unit is used on occasional basis. It as broken down 2 times in 5 1/ 2 years. Melted heat strips, shorted blower. Still not repaired after 2 weeks. Waiting on parts. We have a Trane unit on the main level with minimal issues for over 10 years. Buy the Trane. It is very reliable.

"Flawless performance for over ten years"
Flawless performance for over ten years. Only service was to keep filters changed. Cut electric bills in half, heats at 10 degrees F without cutting in backups. I can only say the unit works. If it dies tomorrow, will be from salt air and corrosion. It stomped the performance of the previous systems. I would recommend this unit without reservation.
Other 14HPX Reviews
A post on hvac-talk.com from a homeowner trying to decide between the 14HPX and a more expensive Lennox model was advised by professional members that the best Lennox is the Signature series and that the 14HPX is a low-end unit. There are also posts on the same site regarding problems with high and low pressure faults and with problems that appear to be the fault of technicians, including overcharging with Freon.
