"6 years and Dead"
My last a/c unit lasted over 15 years. Purchased brand new house, 6 years later I am having to replace it due to a blown up compressor.

"Haier split heat pump, 13 SEER"
Just wanted to say that no matter what kind of equipment you install or have installed, it's only as good as its installer! I have been doing heating and A/C since 1973 and have put several of these units in and not a problem whatsoever! And by the same token, you can get a lemon in anything you buy. I even installed one in my house and it's been very efficient and trouble-free going on 6 years now! My personal opinion is Haier is as good as any others including Carrier, Trane, Heil, Lennox, etc.

Bought 2 years ago, had to replace capacitors and circuit board and now the compressor. I really am disappointed and will never buy or recommend one in any way ever again. Do yourself a favor and do some research and spend the few extra bucks on something better.

"Piece of Crap"
First year: Leak of gas due to pre-assembled part. Second year: Inverter valve malfunction, had to replace. Third year: Defrost board malfunction. Fourth year: Fan cracked! Yes, the freaking fan cracked due to stress and metal fatigue. Unit is assembled in USA but all parts made in China. Advice: Buy a Carrier or other brand made and assembled in America.

"Defrost Board Goes Bad Every Year"
We have owned this for 6 years and it's about to get it's 4th defrost board. Warranty has covered the boards but not the labor. This will be the first year (past 5 year warranty) that the unit isn't under warranty. I guess, I will see how much this will cost.

"Very Satisfied With The Haier Brand Split Heat Pump"
I had a company professional install a Haier heat pump 5 years ago and works very well. I had no problems with the unit. It cools and heats my home very efficiently. To all the negative people: Any unit if not installed properly or by licensed person will have problems. That's why you get a licensed hvac certified contractor!

"Haier 3 ton Heat pump"
Bought this unit 4 years ago and have already had to replace the capacitor last year and I just found out it needs a new fan motor. I thought these units were supposed to last for many years.

"Haier 13seer 4ton split"
I've bought this unit last July, it worked well throughout the summer. This winter was pretty cold with lows frequently in the teens, my Haier worked very well the entire winter. So far this spring the temps have been touching 90, my Haier keeps things cooled to 73, right where I like it. Just had the unit a year but so far works exactly like it was made to do. I was skeptical about getting it, especially after reading this website. Then I read around on other brands and every one has terrible reviews and most are more bad than good. Even the powerhouse companies. I think it all depends if you use a good installer, good vacuum. I'll keep y'all informed.
The warranty for the Haier D2VAR heat pump is comprised of a 5-year limited compressor warranty and a 5-year limited parts warranty.
