Carrier Heat Pumps

Carrier produces a variety of heat pumps that are designed to be energy efficient and cost effective. For the highest level of heat efficiency in the company product line, Carrier offers the Infinity Series. Carrier's Performance Series and Comfort Series focus on a more economical comfort for homeowners. Puron refrigerant is featured in all of the heat pumps, and compact and base models are also available.

Carrier Infinity Series

The Infinity Series from Carrier offers two stages of heating, requiring less power to function for longer periods of time. With a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) rating of up to 19, Infinity Series heat pumps have advanced humidity and temperature controls and a Silencer System II that reduces the sound to as low as 69 dB. Efficiency is also measured by the Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) and the Infinity Series unit is rated up to 9.5, and has the protection of a WeatherArmor Ultra system.

Carrier Performance Series

An efficient cooling system is reversed during winter months to provide low-cost heating and a SEER rating of up to 16.5 in the Performance Series. Homeowners will notice that Performance Series units are both reliable and quiet as they have a filter drier and a Silencer System II with noise levels as low as 69 dB. Similar to the Infinity Series, the Performance Series heat pumps contain a WeatherArmor Ultra system and are rated up to 9.5 HSPF.

Carrier Performance Compact Heat Pumps

Carrier Performance Compact Heat Pumps can be placed close to a house or on a roof, and are specifically intended for smaller applications. Numerous features of the Compact version of the Performance Series are comparable to the original line, such as a Silencer System II and a filter drier, although the sound level differs slightly at a range as low as 68 dB, and the SEER rating reaches up to 15.5. Manufactured with the WeatherArmor system, the Performance Compact Heat pumps have an HSPF rating of up to 7.7, which could be useful when stored outside.

Carrier Comfort Series

Billed as an inexpensive way to provide year-round and efficient heating and cooling, the Comfort Series Heat Pump has a SEER rating of up to 16 and a WeatherArmor louvered coil guard. In addition, the Carrier Comfort Series is rated up to 9.0 for the HSPF and as low as 70 dB for the noise level.

Carrier Base Series Heat Pumps

When customers are looking for the most economical solution for home comfort, the Base Series from Carrier is something to consider with a SEER rating of up to 15, the WeatherArmor louvered coil guard, an HSPF of up to 8.8, and sound levels as low as 71 dB. Resistance of salt water corrosion is part of the WeatherShield coating on the coastal model, also available by Carrier.

Care and Maintenance of Carrier Heat Pumps

Generally, yearly service checks are recommended for heating units to prevent any substantial wear of key parts or components. Looking at the Pre-Service Checklist on the Carrier website will give consumers an accurate idea of how to prepare for the appointment.

Warranty

Each Carrier heat pump has a 10-Year Parts Limited Warranty when properly registered within 90 days, or an automatic 5-Year Warranty.
