Noisy! Unit installed in basement in utility room and noise upstairs still load. Have to increase TV volume to hear. Noise is from fan unit and combustion chamber/flame. When flame kicks in it makes a load roaring sound which after a minute gets a little quitter, but still noisy. Will need to sound proof utility room to reduce noise levels. Unit does it's job and heats the house just fine and after a month have had no mechanical or electrical problems. Would buy different brand due to noise the unit makes during operation. Our old unit a Heil was not near as noisy, you would think after 22 years they would have even quitter units, not so with York.

I had this unit installed in April, 2016. In the last month I have had no heat on 3 different occasions and they have not yet determined the problem (as of December 29, 2016). The problem with these type of units are the circuit boards are exposed to the elements...merely covered by a metal panel. The problems only occur on cold, damp, humid days after the unit has not been turned on for hours. I feel that these environmental factors are causing my problems. Being a Computer guy for 40 years, I know circuit boards do not work well in a damp environment. I get the usual from the company that installed "we installed hundreds of these and never had this problem" Yeah right. Stay away from these type of units, especially from York

"York Furnace Review"
The York furnace is a quiet and small unit. The installation was completed by Proair, a reputable company and local contractor. The installation was completed quickly and professionally. We researched several different furnace companies and the York warranty is far superior to any other available units and very quiet. We also have a old musty basement where the furnace is installed and this new furnace has helped to dry out the basement and remove the musty smell. This is also a very cost efficient unit and we have noticed our house is more comfortable and the heating bill is less. This is a great unit.

"LX series diesel heating"
Diesel's Heating and Air is the best! We had the LX series installed July of 2015 and it's like we have a new home. The salesman Tom Mendez was great, really knows what he is talking about. The installers Dave and Bryan were just as good. It was a pleaser to have them working in our home! Our house is now warm in the winter and cool in the summer!

After researching, I decided to go with a York LX packaged unit. I let the salesman convince me that poor reviews were from years ago and also saw on message boards that units were much improved. Our unit was installed 12/14/15. A warm front came through (mid seventies) so we turned the AC on - no success. The fan for the top of the unit (condenser fan?) was not working. After waiting for the part to become available, it was replaced. Since the warm front was gone, we needed heat. Turn it on, no go. Module on the blower fan no longer working. If you are keeping score, that is two major malfunctions in less than 20 days. The temps will be in the 20's tonight and we'll have no heat - for several days since those parts are hard to get for the brand new units on a weekend. Over $5,000 for a furnace that refuses to work for more than 4 straight days without a failure. We replaced a 30+ year old Rheem that worked flawlessly until the heat exchanger cracked. I guess I could look on the bright side and say that my last two units averaged over 15 years. 30 years and 10 months for the Rheem and a week and a half for the York. No way I would ever buy a York again and wish there was a way out of this nightmare.

"This unit seems like a great machine."
This unit seems like a great machine. I like the two stage. I wish the contractor would have explained the workings of the unit and informed me about the options of different profiles.

"LX Series furnace"
Pleased with this unit. Model number YE31130E175B1605AP. Runs quietly and very efficiently. We had previously used wood for our main heating source and with this furnace our budget increased less than $25 a month. Much lower than we expected.

Replacement for a 15 year old Carrier Infinity furnace. So far we are very pleased. Technician told us our old 100,000 BTU furnace was too big for our house; replaced it with a new 80,000 BTU York LX Series TM9V furnace. The new furnace takes up a smaller footprint than the Carrier and is very quiet. Very happy so far with the performance of this new York furnace. The only concern: a name plate sticker appeared to have been removed from the front of the cabinet and was replaced with a York LX Series sticker. The manual referred to Johnson Controls but did not specifically state "York" furnace - generic brand?

This product was purchased by Citizens for Citizens in Fall River, Massachusetts, and Eagle Energy Systems won the bid to install the furnace. CFC helps low income families to with home energy improvement upgrades. I am very happy/pleased with this nonprofit organization for footing the cost of your product. I hope if ever we get the finances for the cost of the air conditioner system, I will definitely add it. It would be a dream come true...at least we are halfway there. Thanks for a high rated workmanship equipment/product. Jim Fontes

"My York furnace is a lemon"
We purchased a new York furnace in December, 2009. By October, 2010, it had its first of many breakdowns. Our contract states 10-year warranty on parts and labour. York is now claiming our parts warranty is only for 5 years. The amount of times we have had to make repairs on this machine is ridiculous. I'm at the point where I am going to throw out this machine and eat the cost of buying a new furnace. I will never recommend York furnace. I will also tell my friends, family, co-workers and any that will hear this story about not buying a York furnace.

"Dual Fuel review"
We had a York model TM9v120D20MP11 propane furnace paired with a York heat pump (no model number) installed by the Petrie Company out of Cookeville, Tennessee. We have been pleased with the two units (quiet, seem more efficient,no problems). However, the equipment is only as good as the installation and service, and in those two regards we cannot say enough about the Petrie technicians who installed both units. They were quick to install the units, polite, made sure we understood how to work them, made sure they complied with an energy audit we had via TVA prior to installation, and were pleasant to work with. I would recommend the contractor and York products to anyone. We will repeat the process when we replace the heating/cooling unit for the lower half of our house.

"York TM8V is working fine, installed 1 week ago."
The furnace is the regular type furnace found in average homes in New Jersey. The TM8V has two stage burners and the variable (3 speeds) fan motor gives better temperature control in the rooms than the old 1993 single stage burner and single speed fan I had before. There are not a lot of "bells and whistles", buttons/levers to set or adjust on the furnace. Overall I'm happy with this furnace during the first week of operation. I might have jumped for the TM9V had the prices offered by the installer been a lot closer. I will see in the middle of next month, when I get the gas/electric bill, whether I get the savings the installation company claimed I would get.

"York duel fuel installation"
The York LX series high efficiency equipment is coupled with a York high efficiency heat pump in a duel fuel setup. We use propane gas, and I now use 75% less propane. My electric bill, even though the heat pump runs more, is actually 21% less! York equipment and our certified York expert are remarkable.

"Don't know yet"
The two new units were installed less than 2 weeks ago and have had very limited to almost no use at all. If the units perform as expected - and I think that they will - then my concern will be durability - how long the units last with minimal repair or replacement. Ask me again in 15 or 20 years.

"York furnace and AC"
When we purchased our home, it did not have central AC and the furnace was a very aged Coleman Evcon, which was due for replacement and was on borrowed time. I contacted an HVAC contractor that did some work for a family member and requested info on York, as that brand for me has always been synonymous with quality equipment. I ended up selecting the LX 80,000 BTU furnace and added a 16 seer AC unit as well, and we couldn't be happier. Not only do we now have year-round comfort, but our unit is a 96% efficiency unit, so our overall utility costs have decreased as well. Add to the fact we have a full warranty, we have peace of mind for years to come. Our home is a ranch-style single family home, and the mud room where the unit is located is just off the kitchen. When this unit runs, it's extremely quiet and cycles without us even knowing half the time. I am very happy with our purchase and would recommend this unit to anyone looking to upgrade.

"Review of product, sales & installation"
We had another company come to our home, they wanted to sell us a furnace. His options were two very expensive furnaces with lots of unnecessary added features that would cost more on maintenance. The furnaces had a very short life span, plus the warranty sucked on those. The person from whom we purchased the York furnace showed us the simplicity and efficiency of the York furnace. I realized that all the extra fancy stuff in the other furnaces was just window dressing and totally unnecessary, adding to the cost and shorter life expectancy, with higher maintenance costs. We were totally impressed with the look and simplicity of the York furnace, and it has a much longer life expectancy. Both the dealer, who is also the installer, and the product are a perfect fit for our home.

"York LX Furnace and A/C"
We just purchased a new York Furnace and a/c ( Lx Series) 2-stage with Variable Speed motor to save energy. It was not the least expensive model but middle of the road. I am so happy we purchased this furnace, so quiet and contractor was very professional. My neighbour paid almost 800.00 more for his Amana furnace and it sounds like a jet engine compared to mine.

We had the LX series installed about 1 year ago and it has been working fine. No real problems. It was the cheapest estimate we could get. You get what you pay for.
Other LX Reviews
One user at GardenWeb.com describes the York LX furnaces as "nice". The reviewer appreciates the compressor jacket which makes the unit quieter. Another comment from doityourself.com states that the York LX furnaces has the ECM feature which allows owners to get constant air circulation by running the fan on a low speed. This benefit is more noticeable in multi-level homes.
