I have been installing Tempstar furnaces For over 20 years -- very good unit if installed properly. Sometimes people don't check temperature rise (the difference between heat & return air). It's posted on rating plates of all furnaces. If the unit runs too hot the heat exchangers fail. Others install high efficiency air filters also changing the temperature rise. I installed Carrier for approx. 10 years -- don't buy one Of those if uou use propane gas -- the heat exchangers only last 10 to 15 years. Tempstar may be owned by Carrier but it's not the same.
Other T9MVX Reviews
The T9MVX has mixed reviews around the web. Homeowners on hvac-talk.com note that this unit is a good price for the high efficiency and they like the "No Hassle Replacement Warranty" that the manufacturer offers. Hvac-for-beginners.com also rates Tempstar furnaces highly, mentioning the solid warranty on the heat exchangers and advanced communication systems.
However, several shoppers steer away from this unit in search of a quieter unit with a more reliable brand name. Contractors on forums such as justanswer.com also recommend a different unit for homeowners, claiming Tempstar often has more service calls than other manufacturers.
