"Williams furnaces are not what they say"
We've had our furnace for 5 years and the so called cast iron has a crack in it. It's certainly not the best as advertised..
"Very poor durability"
This wall furnace was installed brand new in 2005 and worked well for about 6 or 7 years then the pilot light started going out all the time. Had the mechanism replaced twice and both failed after a short time. I'm a Realtor and I see wall furnaces that are more than 30 or 40 years old and still going strong. A built-in appliance like this should not fail after just a few years.
"Terrible quality control"
Terrible quality. Loose and missing fasteners thru out the entire furnace, Fan makes contact with its shroud. The plug and sockets for power hookup are not compatible. One plug face is rectangular the other is round on one end and cannot be mated. Also, the pins and sockets are not secure in plugs allowing wires to easily fall out by hand when holding the wire assembly. The gas control assembly has no support and is free to hang loosely from its tubing. I will discourage any others not to buy a Williams furnace product.
"Williams direct vent"
I purchased 2 model 3003612 direct vent furnaces in 2007 I installed one with the propane conversion kit available at the time I used this furnace for ten years the only time the pilot light blew out was when the wind was 40 + miles per hour directly towards the vent.Last winter I was going to clean the thermocouple but decide to replace the furnace with the one that I bought at the same time since it had worked 10 years. I had the other one in a shed all that time.It works flawlessly the coldest it got here was -35 and I was able to depend on it I live at garrett wyoming and it is unforgiving cold and windy in the winter
Have 3 of the Williams direct vent lp (propane ) heaters installed in one of our buildings. They only get used once a week. Now all 3 don't work. Pilot won't light, so no heat $900 x 3 is an expensive experiment. Avoid this heater!!!
