Goodman Furnace Reviews

"Installation matters:"

3.0 rating

I read all the bad reviews for Goodman and I have to say, most problems with HVAC system are a result of poor installation practices. A large portion of my work involves fixing installation mistakes which encompass oversized equipment, undersized ducts etc. I’m astonished by how many hvac ” installers don’t perform heat/heat gain calculations. I’ve actually reduced equipment size in half and doubled return air supply to HVAC systems. Poor installations equal poor performance. I have actually seen return ducts cut into the rear of a furnace cabinet, Before you blast a product, check the installation for compliance with the manufacturers installation guide. I offer many products to my customers. Some are superior but they all do the same thing, and perform just fine. The major difference in equipment is noise. You pay more for quiet.

"Do not buy Goodman"

Had this model Goodman installed in 2007 and have had annual issues with it from heat sensor to inducer and now to the board and relay switches. I have sent Goodman a letter and I am hoping for some rectification. Not holding NY breath.

We had the Goodman mid efficiency furnace – gme80905cxab – installed in July 2007. Since then we have had to have a service tech in 3 times. Furnace would not kick in and all 3 times it was related to the flame sensor. I would never buy a Goodman again.
