Echelon Gas Furnaces

Reaching up to 98 percent AFUE, the Echelon series is Evcon/Coleman’s top-tier product line. The series features two models of modulating furnaces designed to constantly adjust their heating output to maintain a consistent temperature throughout the home. The unit also is equipped with Coleman’s EcoTrak systems, which can customize the unit to perform in dry, temperate or humid climates.

LX Gas Furnaces

The LX series includes seven models ranging from 80 to 95 percent AFUE ratings, with either single-stage, two-stage or modulating operation. Two-stage heating models are equipped with a soft-operating, variable-speed ECM fan motor and Coleman’s EcoTrak system for increased climate control. All models feature an aluminized steel heat exchanger.

Comforteer Single-Stage Gas Furnaces

As Evcon/Coleman’s base product line, the Comforteer series offers an 80 percent AFUE option and an option reaching up to 95 percent AFUE. Both units have single-stage operation, are promoted for their low sound levels and stand at 33 inches for installation in tight spots around the home. Components include an electronic hot surface ignition, an induced combustion system, inshot main burners and a heat exchanger designed to simplify the flow path of gas.

Care and Maintenance

Coleman offers a complete care guide for furnaces and components on its website. A yearly professional service check is recommended for oil-fired furnaces, but Coleman states gas-fired equipment burns cleaner and can be serviced every other year.

Evcon/Coleman Warranty

All Evcon furnaces are equipped with a 10-year limited warranty on parts. Coverage for the heat exchangers varies between a lifetime or 20-year warranty, depending on the product purchased. Equipment must be registered within 90 days of installation to receive the full warranty term.

"Evcon furnace air combustion controls not dependable"

3.0 rating
Neutral

Furnace is not dependable to operate on its own. The air combustion switch will not allow for normal operation. Unit has to be turned off then on numerous times before operating. May run the rest of the day or may not. Seems that when windy conditions prevail it does not operate normally. Completely undependable to operate. Especially in elderly peoples home.

I am disappointed in the Evcon gas furnace that was installed 1 year ago in a mobile home that I own. The reason is because when the furnace heats up the expansion of the metal makes very loud banging noises, this makes everybody around very nervous. I find this very disappointing for the cost of a new furnace and would not recommend an Evcon furnace to anyone.
