Not made for extreme cold weather
Had for 3 years now. Its -17 outside and 56 in house this Christmas and
on all the time. Had the crawl space sealed off and put in a new front
door that is sealed much better. Had same problem last year and local
heating shopman came out to clean fix. Found nothing wrong. Any reviews
that say it is good for brutal or cold winters do not live in Northern
Wisconsin/Northern Minnesota. Their winters are mild. Yes I have an old
house but this was an old house with my old furnace that could keep the
house at 68 easily. I wish it would not have started leaking gas. This
series furnace cannot keep up with extreme cold.

Maytag furnace is great!
I purchased this Maytag furnace about 10 years ago. It has been the only brand of furnace that has lasted a long time time for me. What I absolutely love about this furnace is that it operates very quietly, which is a plus! It also is Energy Star approved and does not rack up my electric bill. The only thing is that I wish it was a little bit smaller but other than that it is great. I've never had to replace it in the 10 years that I've had it and if I ever were to replace it then I would still buy the same make and model. I definitely recommend this Maytag furnace to anyone!

My current furnace
I have had my Maytag furnace for over 3 years. I think it does a great job of warming our house in all the ways that a good furnace should. I live in Texas so our winters are not too brutal, but we do get pretty chilly sometimes, so it is nice to know we have a furnace that we can count on year to year. I like that it is always dependable and I don't have to worry or wonder if it is going to work. We have not had to have anything done to it as far as repairs go, and we have not replaced it. By having a well known brand I think it makes a difference in quality and it is nice to not have incurred all the expenses that come along when you have to start calling a repair man out to fix things. I would definitely recommend this brand to a friend. We have some friends that are currently building a home and they have asked our opinion on all of our appliances and I told them we are very happy with Maytag so I am sure they might be buying the same brand!

Maytag great warranty
I have had Maytag installed in my last two homes (due to my first
experience, which was great). Super warranty, quiet, efficient and

It might be too late to help some of the writers. We also had trouble with
flooding of the unit. Turns out the installers had forgotten to put a drain
in. Now have a drain as well as a condensation pump. I saw one user had noise like a train. Same here. I complained for 3 years and it was suggested that it was running how it was supposed to. It turned out, after it quit
completely, that the fan motor bearings were gone and were likely in
poor shape at the outset. It's fairly quiet now. The latest problem is the furnace door safety switch is gone. I'm waiting for Christmas to be over to get the part. In the past 50 years, my experience is that furnaces run for 20-plus years with no problems. It seems that now there are frequent service issues almost immediately and they are more complex to repair.

Maytag installed in 2008 running great!
I am a distributor of Maytag equipment and thought it would be a good
idea to have this new model installed in my home in 2008. The unit has
performed great, with no breakdowns or repairs needed, and is very quiet
while operating. Great design and a 12-year warranty. Nice work.

2-stage variable speed gas furnace
I just replaced my Carrier central electric system with a new Maytag
18/19 SEER iQ Drive dual fuel system. The system is saving me almost
half in my electric bill and I can't wait to see the savings coming this
winter with my new 2-stage variable speed gas furnace.

Failure of A/C and installer
The evaporator coil failed after 18 months. I figured that it was
covered by the "great" warranty but only parts, labor was extra. The
installer, Authorized Heating and Air Conditioning, charged me $350 to
charge the system to determine the leak then wanted another $750 to fix
it. In my opinion, this unit should not have failed and Authorized
should have done the work for cost.
There is no information on how to contact Maytag from their website and since the installer is not particularly interested in doing the work, I was on my own.
I would NEVER buy a Maytag anything (there are large problems with those nice looking washers/dryers too) and I have found an installer that I feel won't be cheating me.
