Overview of TG9S
As a member of Luxaire's basic gas furnace product line, the Climasure Series, the TG9S Series is promoted by the manufacturer for providing efficient and quiet home heating. The single-stage heat units in this line offer 95.5 percent AFUE and feature self-cleaning Inshot burners, and a burner box designed to muffle operation noise and ensure low sound levels.
The TG9S also features durable performance, according to the manufacturer, with its aluminized steel tubular heat exchangers built to resist corrosion and cracks, a heavy-duty pre-painted cabinet, built-in shutoff sensors and a shut-off main gas valve for increased safety, and a low maintenance hot-surface ignition system.
With all 11 models in this series standing at only 33 inches tall, this product line is designed for installation in tight spots, such as closets, attics or garages. The TG9 furnace also is built using common service parts, allowing for low maintenance costs.

This thing sucks. Original furnace (keeprite) lasted 20 years not 1
issue. It finally blew and replaced it with a Luxaire unit. Had it
installed on May 1, 2019, and has not worked more than 4 hours at a time.
The contractor has been back to my house 4 times since he installed it. It
has read 2 different codes, 3 flashing red light and now the new one, 6
flashing red lights. The contractor has gone back to the dealer and the
dealer informed him that there is a faulty switch that needs to be
replaced, that Luxaire knows about and he does not have the part in
stock. Wtf. You sell a furnace that you know is faulty but don't have the
parts to repair it. I froze my ass off the first night. Spent 3 hours
trying to fix it myself. This thing works for 2 to 3 hours and then
shuts down. It has to be resent for 5 minutes then turned back on to get
it working again. I have informed my contractor to remove it and install
and different brand but I was informed that the dealer will not refund
his money. Please do yourself a favor, stay away from this junk. I live
in Canada and the weather has been a little wonky this year. Hot, cold.
On the cold days, this house is like a freezer. I spoke to Luxaire head
office and they will not help, not even calling the dealer. They took my
money and washed their hands with it. I can't believe I am out over
1000.00 with no other course to take. If I can help any other person
from getting ripped off from this product I hope you guys pay attention
it cheaper than paying cash.

Furnace/AC installed 2011. Furnace pressure switch went bad 2 yrs. Later
& replaced by the installer-no charge. In 2018 draft inducer motor failed.
Installer out of business & calls to 2 Luxaire dealers unreturned. Local
dealer replaced & said he would turn in under 10 yr. Parts & labor
warranty, but thought I'd have to at least pay labor charges. Unsure
what to expect next. No problems with ac so far.

Runs like a clock

So far very satisfied
The unit was installed in April 2016. Temperatures have been fluctuating
from warm to cold on various days considering that we are moving into
spring. I will say that the unit, which is a 60,000 BTU unit, compared
to my last unit (40,000 btu) warms up the home much
quicker (obviously). Now, because I've got a more powerful unit, we
are noticing that the unit is a little louder than our last unit. But I
guess that would be due to the increase in the BTU rating. Quick
ignition, high efficiency rating, and more air flow through the vents
are all positives. The real test will be next winter. We're getting into
spring now, so it's a little too early to give accurate reviews. But, so
far we're very satisfied with our purchase.

Luxaire furnace problems
I have been reading the reviews and felt I needed to respond. I have
worked for the same contractor for 26 years and usually find a lot of problems
with most brands of furnaces are installation errors. Most problems are
improper duct sizing, flue and combustion air pipe sizing, and wiring of line
voltage has to have proper ground neutral and hot connections. The main
thing with Luxaire furnaces that I have found is that they were coming
with clear plastic condensate collection pans located behind the draft
inducer that would crack and leak. I believe Luxaire has figured this
out because they have changed the box to a different plastic. We have
had very few problems with the ones that we have installed.

New furnace installation
My furnace was provided by an energy assistance program through
Community Action, Wayne/Medina, Ohio. I am extremely pleased with my new
unit - its efficiency, the overall heating of my home, the shorter
length of time it runs compared to the unit it replaced, the quietness
of the unit, and the professional conduct with which the contractor had
the new unit installed for me. The brand is Luxaire.

Simpler is better!
I could have bought a furnace with more features, or more bells and
whistles, or one that was more expensive, but I went with a very basic,
high efficiency model, and am glad I did. My Luxaire TG9 has performed
flawlessly ever since installation, runs quietly, and keeps my house
toasty warm. What more does one need from a furnace?

I bought a Luxaire furnace on the recommendation of my heating
contractor. It seems to work quite efficiently and other than the slight
noise when the ignition of the burner happens it is nice and quiet. My
previous furnace was very noisy. I am looking forward to seeing how much
my hydro and gas bills go down with this new high efficiency unit. I
would definitely recommend this brand.

The furnace heats up the home nicely. I'll have to monitor my utility bill
to see any reduction in usage and cost.
The important thing I don't like about this new furnace is, it kicks in too often even if thermostat setting is 3 times per hour. Now I don't know if it has to with the thermostat or the furnace itself.
I did turn off my thermostat for 1 hour and still the room temperature did not drop. I read many comments where people complained about the same thing.

Reliable for all the wrong reasons
I purchased my furnace 5 years ago. I chose it because it met my price
range and the heating and cooling contractor said it was a very reliable
brand. It has broken down the last 4 years. Yes, this furnace is
reliable - I can count on it breaking down every year. To date I have
replaced 1 flame sensor, the condensation pan, pressure switches and,
just last week, the blower motor. I do not plan on having this furnace in
my home come next winter, as I've already started getting quotes on a
replacement. I will never purchase a Luxaire product again.

Since I have only just had the installation done, I am happy so far.
I loved the Lennox that was 30-plus years old, but the pilot would not stay
lit. I have ultimate confidence in my contractor, and they suggested the
Luxaire, so we are hoping the furnace performs as well as the installer!

Had the furnace 3-4 years, and the power vent seized. My wife and I have complained about the inconsistency of the heat and blowing cold air. We were
constantly adjusting the thermostat. I sit near the furnace room in the
basement and have thought that it seems the furnace had a mind of
its own. The power vent was stopping and starting all the time, and
differently. I could never figure out the pattern. I discovered the
thermostat has cycle settings. The default of the thermostat was 5 times
an hour. For this furnace (higher than 90% EFF) it should be 3 times an
hour. Now it works normally, and the heat is more even. I also wonder if
this contributed to the vent motor burning out prematurely.

Do your research and spend a little money on quality
Only had the furnace 5.5 years (just outside the warranty) and now need
the unit overhauled. I would never buy this product again, nor would I
recommend it to someone who isn't my friend. What I feel is wrong with
the unit/product is the poor quality of its parts. The major money maker
is not the sale of the furnace, it's after the installation. This is
where the money comes flowing into the dealer (during the maintenance of
the unit). Parts are always breaking and/or cracking. Sure, there is a
discount on the parts; however, there is still an out-of-pocket cost, a
service call/diagnostic cost. If you do purchase this product, get the
extended warranty and a service agreement! You should always have the
unit maintained yearly; however, be prepared to spend extra money on

Replaced an oil furnace with this, it runs like a watch, the fuel cost
reduction will pay for itself in less than 2 heating seasons. We had the
ac coil installed for future central ac installation.

My New Furnace
We had a 28 year old Lennox furnace. A part went on it, so being so old
we decided to purchase a new high efficiency furnace. I am satisfied
with the furnace, the only complaint I have is compared to our previous
furnace this one when running is very loud !

Absolute junk! Buyer beware. Gas furnace is just over three years old
and in need of major repairs. Service company commented on poor quality
of unit. Repairs cost almost as much as a new Lennox unit, a much better
furnace. Do not buy Luxaire. You get what you pay for.

Furnace noisy when it goes on and when it runs. The house feels cold and
the furnace doesn't keep a consistent temperature. This machine cost
more to operate last mild winter than our old vintage 1950's American
Standard did in previous colder winters. This furnace may be more
efficient, but electric costs more to operate. I would never purchase
this brand of machine again.

Reliant Plumbing and Mechanical
I've been selling/installing Luxaire/York now for over 10 years and
never run into issues with it as long as you install these units
correctly and take care of them they will run from years to come. Also
the fact that majority of these units are built here in the usa so not
only am I installing a quaility product I'm also keeping work here is
the states whitch is very important to us.

Unhappy with product
Had this furnace for 2 months --- it is the loudest and makes so much
noise we have to turn the tv up every time it goes on. We were told it
would be similar to our old furnace. We told the guy it was noisy, The
guy came and said he turned down the blower as much as possible to try
to make it quieter. The furnace we replaced that had a broken heat
exchanger was 2 belt driven American Standard? Furnace vintage 1950's;
much quieter and although I'm told this new one is more efficent I
haven't had it running that much to prove whether the cost will change
or not. It wasn't that expensive to run the old furnace. This Luxaire
furnace is not good for older homes and older duct work. I am not
happy with it.
