Overview of the G9D

The Luxaire G9D member of the Performance Plus series is a high-efficiency gas furnace offering up to 94 percent AFUE. This model is available as an upflow unit and features a compact, 45-inch cabinet with front access for quick installation and maintenance. Simple wiring, easy access from the front and a solid bottom with removable panel also contribute to the unitís simple service and installation.

The G9D features quiet, two-stage operation. The unit continuously operates on a low heating function until a dip in the temperature is detected while using an electronic hot surface ignition and an inshot-burner induced combustion system that contributes to the quiet operation. A PSC multiple-speed, direct-drive motor with blower also contributes to low noise levels.

Additional features of this unit include built-in self-diagnostics with a display, a programmable blower and single or two-pipe installation. A high-velocity filter also is provided with the unit.

Review:
"Consumer/ hvac tech"
I have been reading these reviews I put in a Luxaire furnace in December of 2002. My gas bill before was $180 a month to $65 the first month of January. In fall of 2011 I install a Luxaire heat pump with same furnace as back up heat. Have to have for Indiana cold winters. The only thing I have done is changed filter. No parts failures at all. I still put in Luxaire furnaces and a/c units. I run company on my days off from my firefighting job. I have put in a bunch of these things. I also stand behind all my work. And to this day, I have only had two part failures from any of units installed. I will continue to install and would not recommend anything else at this time. By the way I was a American Standard dealer before going to Luxaire. Take a good look at company that is doing install. As far as factory is concerned, if quality installation and good company you should never have to deal with factory. Wish I could give out E-Mail but If I did I would not get anything else done. Luxaire are great units!
