The unit was installed in 2006 by the previous homeowner. The blower motor just failed and the cost to replace the motor is $1200. You have to buy the part from a Lennox certified representative. That is more than half the cost of a new unit.

I got the g60v two stage variable speed installed in September of '05. after almost 3 years of ownership, it hasn't given a lick of trouble, and the two stage provides great heat when it is really cold outside (- 40c), running long periods on first stage with long even heat cycles. It would occasionally hit stage two, but once the inside temp hit the differential, it would drop back down to first stage. I only wish I got the g61v, 90+ efficiency with the way gas prices are heading.

- In another hvac-talk.com forum, one professional technician points out that Lennox has cheaper parts making repairs consistently quick and easy.
- In yet another hvac-talk.com forum, some state that Lennox technicians must repair Lennox furnaces because they know their systems best.
