"Heil is the best"
I had a complete Heil heating and cooling system installed in my home the summer of 2006. The system that was replaced was only 6 years old (found out that the system was too big for my 3 bedroom 2 story house). After it was installed my energy bills were cut by a third, The system operates extremely well. Thompson Heating here in Cincinnati was great they sized my system very well. Everybody there is the greatest. From the time I called in with my problem, to the installers who installed it. My old system must of had at least a roll of duct tape around the top of furnace and still leaked air to a job that is so well done that doesn't leak air and doesn't have any tape. They even fixed the pipe that goes from my water heater to the chimney at no charge. They even had the local building inspector come out to make sure it was up to code. Thank You, you guys are the greatest I will recommend these guys to everyone Well worth the extra money I paid for this.

Well I brought an older home and it had a 42 yr old furnace so I decided to invest in a new one. I read reviews and got estimates and opted to go with Heil, the home I was renting for six 1\2 years had a Heil and it never gave me an ounce of trouble. So far I'm impressed by it's two stage operation. I'd suggest a Heil as everyone has stated though get a good contractor. I went thru six guys before I chose the company I wanted to install my furnace and I must say that was probably the most difficult thing-Finding a really good contractor. I'd suggest checking to see if their with the BBB which I did as well and pay close attention to what they tell you about the installation. I had almost went with one guy until he said We work "fast" which was a major turnoff-I wanted the job done "right" the first time and the guy who did the work did a really grat job of the installation.

"Fan broke after 4 years"
We purchased the furnace/ac unit in 2004 for over $6,000. Has run well up until this past year. Called the installer to have a noise checked out in the furnace. The installer did not have a copy of the original invoice but called the company and found the part was under warranty. We did find our copy which stated it was under 5 yr parts and labor. So we got it fixed for free. The new part has 1 year warranty. I would hope that a high end brand like Heil would have a better unit. It appears that it has a few problems from reading the rest of the consumer reports. It is a lot of money to pay for something that will break in 5 years. In our circumstance, I was pleased that the installer was quick to respond and fix the unti, but not that they didn't keep a copy of our invoice. I am pleased that the Heil company did cover the warranty.

"Heil furnace review"
I am very happy with my Heil furnace. It is not noisy like my Carrier was and it has saved me a great deal on my bills.

My mom installed a furnace (after the old one, brand unknown) died in 1991. She has never had a problem with her Heil furnace. She isn't very good about having it serviced every fall (it probably gets looked at every 3-4 years) but this product is knock on wood. It's never quit working, and has been a great product for her. When she has had it serviced, they've replaced a few parts on it over the years, but they have all been routine maintenance stuff and never has cost more than $100. Furnace is still going strong for her, she hopes it lasts years longer. A furnace is definitely something you take for granted, but it wasn't until she had several problems w/ a new Whirlpool water heater that sits next to the furnace that I took note of this product and its excellent service record for her. It seems like this site is more for griping, because all the brands have bad ratings. I hope Heil isn't a brand that has gone into decline, but I would look at the Consumers Reports ratings before buying a new product.

Our unit was installed in 1987 Central Heat and Air This unit had no problems until 3 years ago we replaced the fan on the outside unit. Air still runs great. The heater blower motor went out last week due to the age of the unit we will be replacing the system. I hope my new one last as long.

"Heil A/C Furnace"
We replaced a 12 year old Day-Night central a/c Furnace that was having problems with the a/c compressor losing charge. Contractor could not find a leak, so it appeared it was in the lines that are buried in the concrete slab of the garage floor. As it did have some years on it, replacement seemed prudent. The contractor replaced the furnace and A/C with a Heil unit in summer of 2007. At the time the heat in the SoCal desert was so high he couldn't test the furnace operation and the A/C worked fine. Now this winter, the furnace has never worked. The ignitor and purge fan come on, but the gas valve never opens. The ignition sequence keeps repeating and does not stop after 3 tries as it is supposed to. The green fashing LED is indicating no problems. The valve will open if power is supplied directly from the transformer, so it is not the valve. He has changed the circuit board, no joy. Heil told him it was a bad ground. We have regrounded everything and problem still exists. It appears to me that there is a bad sensor somewhere. He is trying again this week to contact Heil.

"Don't go heil"
Had a heil furnace installed with a new home as it was recommended by the builder. Went bad approximately 5 1/2 to 6 years. Heil was unable to supply parts and luckily replacing it was covered by home insurance. Scarily enough it began to leak gas and only due to our carbon monoxide detector are we still alive. Furnace was checked every year with a trusted and reputable tech. Avoid Heil at all costs

""Sad" Owner of a Heil Furnace"
My furnace has had the circuit board replaced last year and 2 years ago, and the induction fan and motor assembly replaced last month. Last night the furnace quit again. Now it runs but the burner doesn't light, a different problem to add to the list! I could have saved all the money I put into this furnace over the past 3 years and bought a new furnace! This is just unacceptable. Where is the quality, pride, craftsmanship and dependability in this product. Was it made by some underdeveloped country that doesn't care what kind of product it puts out into the American marketplace? I can't afford to keep throwing money into this furnace that should last at least 20 years like the old one did. Should I have bought a "better" furnace? Should I have checked the feedback on these Heil furnaces before buying one? I assumed the name alone stood for reliability and dependability! But, we all know what happens when one "assumes".
