29 YEARS AS CONTRACTOR

I have been repairing and installing furnaces in the midwest for 29 years. I have worked on every brand there is, installed 6 different brands. I am here to tell you that Gibson units, a mid level brand, has some great history and longevity. All of the brands have issues at some point. I have seen the best units fail because of poor installation and bad maintenance. I have had a couple issues with warranties from Nordyne, but they produce a good product. A lot of you come on here and give horrible reviews. Nobody takes the time to write good reviews. And homeowners that don't know anything about the products except from a problem they have had ( usually because of a poor service/install tech) can't judge an entire line. I have a Gibson in my house, no problems. Nothing is perfect, but find a good contractor who cares about the job, not the Big Guys who push brands based on profitability and advertising. Loving the gibson line.

Gibson & Tappan furnaces

I have installed Gibson and Tappan Furnaces for 15 years. I find that the reliability of these furnaces is far better than other brands I have installed. A customer called me and asked if his furnace ever needed service, it was installed 12 years ago with no problems. They must be sized and installed properly.

OFF TO GOOD START

I had a new funace and ac system installed the end of July when my old ac died. The new units(s) are solid and quiet. I am very happy with the system. My neighbor recommended the local heating company who put in their system 5 years ago. These guys were great, I think the company who installs it is more critical than the name brand.

CAMBRIDGE ONTARIO

Very happy with my purchase. I had the eco energy audit and and got the rebate I was expecting. The product is quiet and reliable. I read some other reviews on this site that were negative and the only thing I can say is poor contractors can make good equipment bad.

Other KG7TC Reviews

Among the very few comments regarding the KG7TC on HVAC forums, there are two posts regarding the control board on hvac-talk.com. One describes changing the board to covert the motor to variable speed, while the other is regarding an error code diagnosing a bad switch.
