Overview of the KG7SC

The Gibson KG7SC is a discontinued gas furnace with an efficiency of over 92% AFUE. It was designed for upflow/horizontal installations, with a low boy height designed for low clearance applications. A heavy gauge aluminized tubular heat exchanger improved durability and heat transfer, and a 30-second blower delay at start-up provided warm duct temperature at start-up, with a 30-second post purge which increased the life of the heat exchanger. An integrated control board provided connections for an electronic air cleaner and humidifier, with diagnostics lights to provide fault codes for easy troubleshooting. The KG7SC could be vented horizontally or vertically with either a one- or two-pipe system.

Review:
"Very happy with product."
This furnace came with the house. The house was a foreclosure, so naturally we had some concerns about the furnace. After getting it cleaned and checked, it was 95 percent efficient. And at the time it was only about a year and half old. Have had it now for 5 years and no problems. There are a couple of things here I would like to relay to others. I suggest changing the filter every month or sooner depending on the conditions (such as living near an unpaved road, or how dusty the area is). My point is, check and change the filter as needed. Also we get it cleaned and checked every year. I also want to relay that the efficiency of the furnace should not go down. We are very happy with it, no dislikes. Would buy this brand again.

Review:
"Refuse warranty because not registered"
I have multiple properties and have used Gibson furnaces in every one of them. I had a cracked heat exchanger directly out of the box. ********** **** was the distributor I bought it from. Both Gibson and ********** **** refused to cover the warranty because I did not register the furnace online. My loyalty toward both these companies is done. I'm out a total of $1400 in additional expenses, and I have a busted furnace. No help from the distributor or Gibson. These two companies are horrible. Never ever buy from ********** **** and never ever buy Gibson.

Review:
"Biggest piece of junk I've ever owned"
I bought this furnace about four years ago and have had nothing but problems with it. Within the first week I had it on, I had to get a new squirrel cage put in. I've also had to replace numerous other parts during the time that I had it. I haven't gone through a winter without it going out. Right now I'm waiting on a technician to come out and work on it again. It's probably going to cost me another $180.00 to $200.00. I would not recommend this or any other product to be purchased from this company.
