Overview of the TM9V

The Coleman TM9V is a two-stage gas furnace with an efficiency of up to 96% AFUE. It is an Energy Star qualified unit and features a compact, 33-inch multi-position design. It has a variable-speed ECM motor which provides better air circulation and low operating sound levels, and an induced combustion design eliminates the need for chimney venting. The TM9V is compatible with Coleman's Residential Communicating Control, which allows the unit to be controlled from almost anywhere using Wi-Fi compatibility.

"Excellent product, best warranty on market"
Installed by First choice Heating and Air in central New Jersey. It has a 10 year parts and 10 year labor warranty! It cost a fraction of the price compared to Trane or Carrier that I was also quoted from other companies. I did my research, and was initially worried about the brand since I saw some bad reviews from several years ago. But the pricing and availability of the product was unmatched and I set out to form my own opinions. I found out Coleman was bought by Johnson Controls several years ago. They have made considerable investments in quality control and product improvements the last several years. I'm impressed also that it's made in the USA in Wichita, Kansas, so I'm proud that I'm buying from an American company whose product is made in USA, putting Americans to work! I went more high end with this two stage furnace and a heat pump and a Coleman communicating thermostat. Installed in November and we couldn't be happier. It's quiet, efficient, looks great. It's sized correctly because I'm a nerd who did a Manual J. And the contractor supported this 100%. In fact, if your contractor doesn't offer a manual j on your living space/house, run!! Get another contractor or your system will be oversized, perform poorly and you will write a bad review no matter what brand equipment you buy. Finally I'd like to say it was a quality install by First Choice, central New Jersey - the owner was Eddie. Super competitive fair prices, not the cheapest and that's okay because they are a quality contractor who offered me solutions to my problem, and I'd rather pay more for knowledge and quality. It was a pleasure working with a business owner who is fair and honest.

"To the rescue"
Of course, I was away when my 25-year-old furnace quit during a cold snap. My daughter contacted the company I used and they provided an industrial electric heater for 5 days to keep my pipes from freezing until I got home and a new furnace could be installed. The contractor was very efficient and courteous and left the work site clean.

"GREAT Contractor and Unit"
My contractor, Complete Comfort LLC of Medford, NJ recommended the product. We redid both the furnace and added ac to our 57 year old home. The systems are great and he was the best part of the decision!

Other TM9V Reviews

There are very few comments regarding the Coleman TM9V on HVAC forums. Among them is a post on doityourself.com from a homeowner who kept getting an error code for a 'blocked condensate switch is open'. Eventually the owner found out that a dead bird was stuck in the screen of the intake pipe, which is what caused the error code.
