Overview of the Preferred 926T

The Bryant Preferred 926T is a two-stage gas furnace with an efficiency rating of up to 96.5% AFUE. It is Hybrid Heat system capable with a compatible heat pump, and select models of the 926T meet Energy Star guidelines. A variable-speed ECM blower motor and QuietTech sound reducing technology help reduce operating noise levels. It has a pilot-free hot surface igniter and can easily be converted from natural gas to liquid propane. The unit features a corrosion-resistant aluminized steel primary heat exchanger and a fin-and-tube stainless steel secondary heat exchanger for optimal heat transfer and efficiency. The cabinet is constructed of galvanized steel with a baked-on polyurethane finish.

There is a post on hvac-talk.com from a homeowner with a Preferred system who wondered why his 926T was wired as a single stage. Several members commented that it may be wired incorrectly.

Preferred 926T Warranty

Product registration is required within 90 days of installation for maximum warranty coverage. The warranty for the Bryant Preferred 926T furnace is comprised of the following:

  • Lifetime limited warranty on the heat exchanger
  • 10-year parts limited warranty

If not registered within 90 days, the warranty reverts to 20 years on the heat exchanger and 5 years on parts. The warranty does not cover labor or shipping costs.
