I'm entering my 3rd year of service with 2 cc125h combi boilers (propane) which have operated flawlessly since their install in a rental property in Ct. One apt is 1,300 sq ft., the other is 900 sq. Ft.-never any complaints about lack of heat or hot water even at minus 8 degrees outside. In all my hot water units I always recommend a modest level of antifreeze for unexpected problems or power outages. These are great units and the technology is impressive, takes time to understand and watch them work. The biggest problem is techs don't take time to learn the technology needed for a good install, many still install these like an oil boiler from the 70'S. And shame on you homeowners who always go for the lowest bid-those are installers who omit important parts for a fast buck at your expense and then blame the unit.

"Worst heating system ever"
We purchased this heating system less than 4 years ago and since the beginning we had nothing but trouble!! As a result of a part malfunctioning the heating stopped working in Jan when the tenants were on break and we had burst pipes throughout the house costing $17k worth of damage and on top of that having to put tenants up in a hotel until the house was fixed!! Since then we have had 4 different error codes resulting in very expensive repairs. We have now decided to replace it with a system that works!! Does anyone have a contact # to voice my problems

I'm sorry to see so many users are dissatisfied with the Challenger. I have the cc105 and it is sized perfectly for our ashrae Manual j needs. I installed it myself in 2013 and had a problem with the water from the well moving too quickly into the water heater. It broke the flow control. I put a pressure monitor on the incoming water and solved the problem. I had to buy the part and didn't think it needed to be covered under warranty since it was the water pressure. And the support people were very helpful. It does take awhile to order a part but that is true of most appliances. I think the part was about $100. Since then the boiler has run as advertised and I have serviced it every heating season. I only did a heat exchanger cleaning after two seasons though. That takes some time. It has been quiet and it modulates just fine with the outside sensor. We use an average 60 therms of gas per month from November through March to keep our 2200 square ft house with radiant heat and radiators at 70 degrees. We are also passive solar and well insulated. The average temperature during those months was 40 degrees and the average bill for usage was $44. That is very reasonable for heat and it is due to proper sizing of the unit, multiple zones run by a single variable speed pump and its reliability has been fine for five years. I hope it continues to perform well.

"Over priced garbage"
I installed the Triangle Tube Challenger combo unit. It worked beautiful for 18 months. Then one day it stopped working. I went out to check the manual to verify the diagnostic code. Which told me the blower fan was bad. Found that hard to believe but after checking online and seeing it happens all the time to these pos units. And of course the Blower fan only has a one-year warranty by Triangle Tube which is awfully convenient considering The majority of them break between one year and two years. Now I need to explain to my customer that the unit I supplied needs a $600 blower motor. Thanks Triangle tube. Oh yeah and their customer service is awful.

"Such a disappointment."
After 2 years the fan broke and cost us $900.00 to replace, let alone it happened on Christmas Eve and cost an additional $200 just to tell us the part would need to be ordered and would have to wait 4 days because of holiday to have heat and hot water. We also had family in town and was not a comfortable Christmas due to no heat and hot water. Then 4 weeks later, the fan went again, but this time the part was covered since it was only 4 weeks old. Such a disappointment. Wish we never converted to gas !!!!!!!!!!!!!

"They don't honor warranties"
I have the Triangle Challenger cc 125. It was made in 2014. The warranty states 1 year covers everything, and 5 years on major parts. It's been about 3 years since my system has been installed. Friday my system shut down completely leaving me without heat and hot water. ( I live in New England) Then, after contacting one of Triangle's distributors and Triangle themselves, I was told the fan that completely stopped working isn't covered under warranty. Sounds like a major part to me! Without the fan the system can't run. I will never refer anyone to this company and I will never buy any of their products again. They don't honor their warranty and leave you stuck having to pay all this money for parts, as if you didn't pay enough for the system as a whole.

Installed unit in September, 2014. Although very efficient, it's extremely undependable. Have had 5 service calls due to failures within the last two months, 3 more at various times before that. A homeowner's worst nightmare. Waiting for the installer now to tell him to take it out and replace it with something dependable. Very disappointing! The plumber was sold a bill of goods and I trusted him. I feel sorry for him to have to deal with this mess.

Does this unit save money on fuel? Sure does, because it only works every now and then. Hot water problems, error codes, heating problems, 10k for this pile of junk. In no way can you leave your home for more than 12 hours in the winter; this thing goes to error code, shuts itself off, and your house will freeze up. Do yourself a favor - buy an oil system, the worst on the market. It will be better than this. My installer has no idea how to fix this thing.

"Best Boiler Ever"
I like this boiler because it does wanders for my home. I have had it for a couple of years and it works like the day I got it. I like it because it is very efficient and it warms up very quickly. It has saved me a lot of time when I needed to warm up my home and my family and me are very cold. I have never had to replace it because like I had mentioned, it is very reliable. I already recommended to some family members and a couple of them already bought one for their needs.

This Triangle Tube boiler is junk. Look elsewhere. It can't heat the whole house. Some radiators are hot, some are cold. The installer put in 2 circulators already, and now they are telling me it needs a third so the heat can reach the attic. They now are telling me I need to pay for it because they are constantly here trying to repair this junk that I paid $6,000 for. And that's when it runs. It is known for ignition failure also. Buy it if you like cold showers.

"Piece of junk!"
The unit is constantly getting error codes, and customer service doesn't have a clue what they are selling. There's nothing worse than spending the day outside, freezing your ass off, and coming home to a frozen house and no hot shower. I hate this thing and want to tear it off the wall! People should never be allowed to sell such a piece of shit. Spend the money on a Viessmann or a Buderus. Do not buy!

"Switching combo brands"
I just recently switched from Cosmogas combi boilers to the Triangle Tube Challenger. I felt the copper pass-through heat exchanger was a better fit for my environment than the stainless tube style. The installs have been very easy, with the snap style connections for piping, lightweight compact design of the boiler, easy vent adapters, and the primary pump built in. I like to use it with a hydraulic separator, and have had very good response on efficiencies from homeowners. The unit is very quiet. I actually can't tell when it is running.

"Does not perform"
Had the combination boiler installed in June 2011 in a 1200 square foot a year round vacation home. If the outside temp drops below 20 degrees the unit is not able to heat the home to 70 degree. My previous standalone boiler would heat the home comfortablly at minus -10 F. Personally, I think the unit is only designed for a very small home or for a house in a warmer climate.

"Triangle tube challenger cc105"
Having lots of problems. Had it installed june 2011, nothing but problems. Keeps going into hard lockout code 4; fortunately for me, had it installed by a large utility company that backs its on year warranty, but if we go on vacation in the winter, and the house freezes, who is going to pay for that? Stay away from this unit, the concept is great, the execution and functionality is not yet acceptable. Will probably replace this when the warranty expires.

"Triangle Tube Challenger"
Had Triangle Tube Challenger installed 4 months ago and it has never worked properly. Constantly has to be reset to get hot water. When heat function is working, hot water function shuts off. The installer and company technicians have spent so much time trying to get this unit to work that they seem part of our family.
