"New Boiler - Works great."
I have just recently purchased this, as I was replacing the furnace and A/C system. A new boiler was within my budget, and I have had good experience with previous systems. I would definitely consider buying the brand again. I would probably buy a bigger system, as my family is getting larger and having a higher capacity system is definitely within my reach, but I do believe that it should be good for awhile. I can't really complain about the system, as it is still new. It heats my water sufficiently, and its energy efficient. It's great. I would definitely recommend the brand, as it works great.

"Great new boiler"
I originally purchased this boiler back in 2013 and it has been a great addition to our family home. I like that is has lasted so long. Our last boiler went very quickly and this product was bought as a replacement. It does very well at maintaining a comfortable temperature throughout the entire house. Usually it's kept between 68 and 75 degrees. This product has not been serviced thus far. Typically my family and I invest in cheaper boilers. However we end up having to pay a lot of money for services and replacements. However this product has lasted 3 years now with no issues. Thus saving our time and money. I would definitely recommend this product to any individual looking to buy a boiler its durable and you cant beat the price. I guarantee it is worth the buy and easy to install. Definitely worth it!

"Sentry Intermittent Ignition Natural Gas Water Boiler is a great buy!"
I have had this boiler for about two years, installing it when we moved into our new home in 2014. I thought the price (around $1500, but we got a discount as part of a Home Depot New Years sale) was a good deal. It is very sturdy and made out of cast iron I believe. It seems to be quite energy efficient, and I think this can be credited to the intermittent electronic ignition. Our last house had electric heat, so using a natural gas boiler now seems to save us a lot of money. My mother has an oil furnace in her basement for comparison, and it is far taller and takes up a lot more space than this boiler. I find the size to be very accommodating. The installation was also very simple, and my husband and I had it installed in our basement rather quickly. I am no expert in boilers, but I am happy with this purchase.

"Sentry Boiler Is Fantastic"
We have only owned this boiler for 9 months but so far it has exceeded our expectations. Installation was easy and only took a few hours. We save quite a bit by using this natural gas boiler as opposed to the old one we used to have. We have had no issues with this boiler so far and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to go the natural gas route in the future, you will definitely save money on your bill. Natural gas is cheap right now and should remain very affordable for the foreseeable future so it is a great time to replace whatever you have with a natural gas boiler like this one. It also feels good knowing you are using cleaner energy as opposed to traditional heating oil, so that's another benefit. Definitely can be installed yourself if you know what you're doing because this is a package kit that comes with everything you need, knock it out in an afternoon and you'll be happy you did when the bill comes

"Small, but Super Effective"
I've owned my new Sentry Slant-Fin natural gas boiler for about three or four months now, and I have to say, I love it! The warehouse I purchased it from through in free delivery and installation with my order, but from what I saw it was rather easy to hook up. It's quite a bit smaller than my previous boiler, but doesn't sacrifice any of the efficiency. My home is roughly 2,500 square feet, with a basement and upper-level. The boiler is located in the basement, naturally, but heats the entire house without any issues. My utility bill has reduced a bit since installing it, which is definitely helpful in this economy. I would have no issues with purchasing the boiler again. The only problem I have with it is that it seemed to be a tad bit expensive for the BTU, but, as stated, it heats my home effectively and easily. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a house around 3,000 square feet or smaller.

"Review of sentry natural gas boiler"
Have had this boiler for over 9 months. Was easy to install and hasn't required any adjustments which is nice because the area is quite tight where the original was located. It was about half the size of the previous one. Supplies plenty for our 2200 square foot home. Do not yet have any complaints. Replaced it by recommendation of a contractor whom suggested this brand, would definitely recommend to anyone with a home around 2000 square feet. Our energy bill seemed to go down around 5% as well, which over time should pay for itself.

"The Hot Boiler that You need"
I've had my boiler about six months ago. I bought it on sale and saved myself almost $300. I had previously owned a different name brand a few years ago and this one had great reviews, so I decided to make the purchase. It stated on the fact sheet how much coverage it would take care of, and that's the main selling point that sold me. I really like the coverage of heat that it provides. I was pleasantly surprised at the performance. I know sometimes we read reviews and they don't help, but this time it really paid off. The only thing I dislike is that it's more expensive to run than my last boiler. I haven't really figured out why, because my previous boiler was larger than this one. But, it's been well worth the small amount of extra money it has cost me because of the great performance it has shown me. But, so far I've honestly had no issues with it and I'm glad I made the decision to purchase it. I would definitely buy the same brand if I had a chance to do it again. I recommended this same product to a friend and he is also very pleased with his Sentry boiler. If you're looking fr a great boiler, this is it!

"Good Boiler for the Price"
I've had this boiler since the beginning of 2014. I really liked how easy it was to set up, it's surprisingly light compared to other boilers I was looking at. I live in a 1000 square foot house, and sometimes it takes a little longer than I like for the heat to get going, but overall I've been satisfied with this product. Over the past year and a half, I haven't had to make any repairs on it, so that's a good sign. I would definitely recommend this to a friend as a relatively good value for the price. In my opinion, Sentry is a good brand.

"Very satisfied with this model"
I've owned this boiler for about three months now and it works well. I needed a replacement for an old unit in a house I recently purchased and this one seemed reasonably priced and had decent reviews. I didn't handle the installation myself, but it seemed to go in without much hassle. It did seem to be difficult for my contractor to move, but maybe that's normal for boilers of this size. I love that it uses natural gas as the fuel, as my bills have been very low and the heat is very easy to control. Obviously I haven't been using it a very long time, but hopefully it will not need any repairs in the near future. I would definitely recommend the Slant-Fin brand to a friend or family member. I had heard good things about the Sentry units by Slant-Fin and can only continue passing on the good name.

"Excellent boiler, good price"
I purchased a Sentry S-90EDP for the small, 2-bedroom home I refurbished about a year ago. So far, it hasn't given me any problems whatsoever. The output is fairly low (at plus or minus 66,000 BTU - as advertised), but it falls easily within the range of what's needed for a single bathroom home. Alternatives to this model were easily twice as much, so my decision was an easy one. Being a comparatively smaller unit as well, transport and installation were much easier. I highly recommend it as a cheaper, more efficient alternative to larger units. I haven't had to make any repairs as of yet, nor have I had any issues with it shutting off or not providing enough hot water (which can be an issue with smaller units, on occasion). Do haggle on the price though, as I've noticed big discrepancies from store to store. If you can get it shipped to your home free of charge (as I did), that's a huge additional benefit.

"Slantfin Natural Gas Boiler Review"
I would highly recommend this boiler to any friends or family needing an exceptional product without a dent in their pocket book. I did a lot of research with my husband before purchasing this product after we could tell our previous boiler was not living up to our standards anymore. We have had it for over 3 years now with no problems at all. The only thing I can complain about is the heaviness of the boiler-that sucker is heavy! The product is durable, incredibly easy to use, includes a lot of features and was easy for my husband to install. He went on and on about the simplicity of it and how easy the instructions were for him and his buddy to follow. Like I said, we have had it for a little over 3 years now with nothing to complain about and I'm sure time will only work in its favor! We are happy customers and recommend this to all!

"Keeps our home warm and cozy!"
We have recently upgraded our boiler to the Sentry S-120-EDP model, around July of this year, 2015. We have found it to be extremely efficient and very cost effective, as we have seen a notable drop in our utility bill. The boiler, while it looks plain and simple, actually provides our 2 story home with a lot of warmth, which is nice this time of year in upstate New York where it has already gotten chilly, especially in the evening. Currently we have no dislikes about this particular model, as it certainly gets the job done. I would most definitely recommend this boiler to a friend, as you seem to get a nice quality from the system. Also, the boiler was a little bit over 1,200 dollars when we had purchased it on sale, which quite frankly is a great price when it comes to getting a boiler. It did not take long for our plumber to switch the boilers out, either, as setup seemed to be quite flawless.

"Boiler works as well as can be expected"
I've owned the boiler for two years. It hasn't broken down so I haven't had to interact with it at all. The boiler is boring in a good way, it keeps working. The boiler is quiet and out of the way, at the end of the day the boiler does what it's supposed to do. Costs are down, boilers are up. It's not exciting in any way, but does a boiler need to be exciting? The most exciting thing that can happen to a boiler is it breaks down, and that would just suck. If a boiler is exciting you need to get a new boiler. And when you get a new boiler, why not get the Slant Fin Sentry line? I found myself somewhat satisfied with the experience of owning this boiler, which didn't break. I would recommend this to a friend, if that friend needed a boiler that worked okay all the time.

"So far so good."
I have owned this boiler for three months now which isn't long but it is the best boiler I have ever used. As a landlord, I've had experience with many different boilers and by far this is the best one yet. It is small yet very efficient while still maintaining a reasonable price. There is nothing to not like so far about this boiler since I am in the very early stages of ownership. If I had to choose a problem that I have with this boiler it would be the price, it could be a little lower because everyone wants to save money, right? Besides that, the boiler is perfect. There have been no issues with this boiler, either, so I have never had to make any repairs. If this keeps up, I'll be putting this boiler into all of the homes that I rent and I will be recommending this to anyone that I know looking for a boiler.

"Low Cost Boiler with Easy Installation"
We had to replace the boiler in our home in Baltimore around the same time that we had to replace the water heater in our "winter home" in Texas, and I was absolutely blown away at the difference in the prices. In Texas, you can get a water heater for $500. When I walked into Home Depot to get a boiler this unit was literally the cheapest at nearly $1800 with tax. I couldn't imagine paying more than that, so we went with the cheapest option. That's usually a scary idea when it comes to home repairs because of the idea of you get what you pay for, but in this instance it all worked out. We replaced a 20 year old boiler and instantly noticed that this one works much better overall. The installation was easy (my husband and brother in law did it themselves in less than two hours) and we have no complaints about its reliability or output. I have noticed, however, that it seems to increase our gas usage. But gas is so cheap that it's hardly a real concern. In this case I'd say go ahead with this model and save some money compared to the more expensive models.

"Best boiler money can buy!!!"
The sentry boiler is the best boiler on the market that you can get for your money. This boiler was purchased originally as a replacement for an older boiler I had in my home. I wanted something that was easy to install and easy to replace parts if necessary. I liked that it's quiet and not an eye sore. So far boiler has keep house at 69 to 72 degrees with no trouble. Since owning this boiler my heating bills has went down by over 40%. I've owned this unit for about 10 years and haven't had to replace a thing. I would recommend this brand to any of my friends looking for a new one. I would even help them install it if needed it was seriously that easy. This sentry unit is Durable, Sturdy, High Quality, Easy to Install, Looks Great, Good Size & Weight, and Nice Design.

"My complicated and average boiler."
I have owned my boiler for about six months now. I like the design and how easy it was to install. I also enjoyed that there were so many of that kind to choose at the store because I was not pressured. I don't really enjoy the space that it takes up. I don't like that it constantly needs to be checked and I do not think it is functioning right. I usually just repair the filter every month because it makes it work a little better. I also had to replace some of the original pieces because for some reason they were missing, and the store I got my boiler from would not reimburse me. I don't think that I would buy the same brand, I would probably go for a more expensive one that does its job. I also would not suggest it to my friends because overall it could be a better and more efficient product.

"Best hot water boiler heating system I have owned"
I have owned this boiler for a little over two months now and I absolutely love it. First of all it has a very advanced design, that makes it look sleek and cool. The boiler is very easy to install even if you have low overhead clearance or low chimney connections. I installed it with the help of a friend and it did not take us very long. I really like the boiler because it saves me on energy cost, I assumed it would burn a lot of energy and considerably increase my utility bill but this was not the case. I have only had it for two months so I have not had to replace or repair it, however I do not think that is something I would have to do anytime soon. The boiler seems strong and durable but I will have to see how it looks in a years time. As of now I would buy this brand again and definitely recommend it to a friend. The boiler works well and has a lot of nice features on it.

"The problem with cold winters and boilers"
My problem with my gas burner results in the protection system derived within the oil tank. I have a big house so I needed a high powered boiler. Unfortunately, the oil tank leaves 30 gallons of gas cut off from the burner as a fail safe to keep the pipes from busting. This means that if I purchase 50 gallons of gas, I only get to use 20 gallons of it because 30 is held in reserve. I'm only 1 person, I shouldn't have to buy a hundred gallons of gas just to take a shower a day. Even though this problem technically stems from the oil tank and not the burner, I still think there should be a way for newer models to override the failsafe. Aside from that the boiler works perfectly fine. As long as I keep a lot of oil in it never has any issues.

"Highly Recommend Sentry Boilers"
My boyfriend and I moved into a Victorian house and quickly got frustrated with how little heat we had. In addition to a variety of other issues, tons of noise and water leaking, we discovered that the boiler was over fifty years old. After we made this discovery, we made the decision to invest in a new boiler. We researched a few different boilers, but eventually decided on the Sentry Slantfin. We were worried that this particular model was slightly too low in BTU output, but over all we have been extremely satisfied with the quality of this boiler. We have heat right away and have had absolutely no issues with the product. It fit within our budget and we see it as a great deal if it lasts as long as the ancient boiler we removed and replaced! So far we have had this boiler for a little over a year and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a boiler with a house on the smaller side. Our only complaint is that it is slightly on the noisy side, but it is nothing too noticeable.

"Great boiler for small spaces"
This boiler has been in my home for about a year now, and so far I am happy with the purchase. It was recommended to us by our neighbor who had recently had one installed, and we have already recommended it to a couple of first time home buyers we know looking to make some improvements. The unit itself is small, which is a plus for the area that we store it in, but still rather heavy. It feels more sturdy and well built comparatively to the boiler it replaced, and it was also more efficient on our pocketbook this winter. We were not only able to keep the house warmer this year, but we also saved about 200 dollars from the previous year's gas bill. So far we haven't needed any repairs, but we did put it on a yearly maintenance plan just to be certain.

"Sentry Slantfin Natural Gas Boiler Is A Great Buy!"
I've had my Sentry Slantfin Natural Gas Boiler for about a year and a half now. It works like a charm and keeps my family and I very warm during the cold nights of winter. I love that it works just like it says on the package and that it was very easy to install. We've had nights where the temperature drop well below zero and it still keeps us so warm! The only negative thing I can say about it is that it is very heavy, but as long as you have someone to help you while you're installing it, the whole process is a breeze! We've never had a problem with it at all. If and when it breaks down and can't be fixed, I would 100% buy this same brand again. I would and have recommend this product to a friend and/or family. I even convinced my parents to purchase one when their boiler broke last winter! This is definitely a great buy and well worth the money.

i m very happy with the features this unit has. it a great price for a great product. i bought this product 1 month ago i did lot of research before buying this product. The Slant Fin gets good reviews consistently. The instructions are clear and I pretty much had no trouble with the install. If the installer says not to use the Z-Flex chimney liner tell them you want it anyway. It is the best way to keep the fumes from entering the house from the chimney. You cannot cut corners on the installation cost--if you do, you will pay for it many times over with service calls and cold nights and no hot water. If you have a good installation, you will have a good trouble-free experience. what i dislike about this is boiler is the customer support of the company and manual is not very detailed. but i will recommend this to my friends and family

I have owned this boiler for over a year. I like how efficient this boiler is. It saves me over ten dollars every month compared to my last boiler. I also like how reliable this boiler is. The thing I dislike about the boiler is the amount of noise it makes. I feel as if the boiler is a little too loud. I never had to repair or replace the boiler since my purchase of it. I have had zero problems with the boiler since the purchase. The installation was smooth and seamless. I would definitely buy from Sentry again. I would also recommend to any family or friends to purchase a Sentry boiler. This is the best boiler that I have ever owned. "My Boiler is Average"
I have owned this boiler for 2 years, I installed it shortly after moving into a new home. I bought this one mostly for the price, and I thought it was fair. I was not able to spend over two thousand dollars on a higher end boiler so I chose this one as a good alternative. I have not had to repair or replace it, so that is good, but I do not think it is extremely efficient - after all it is the cheaper option. I purchased the boiler from Home Depot and it was one of their less expensive models. Sometimes it takes a long time to heat up the house. The components seem to be quality and I would buy one again if I moved to a different house or area. I would definitely need to upgrade the boiler however if I moved into a much larger house in the future.

"Much happier with the new boiler"
We have owned our new boiler for a few months now so it is fairly new. We are used to cold winters and it gets really frustrating when the boiler isn't working right or needs repair. This was the story of our last one so the new one is brand new and works very well. We were told that this one was just big enough to handle our house but on the coldest days it doesn't seem to have any cold spots in the house and it works very quick to warm the house. The only thing I dislike about the new one is where it is located in the garage but this is just where it has to be for the house so isn't the boilers fault. I would most definitely recommend this brand to a friend, I love the fact of not having to think about whether it's working or not. I would buy the same one again if in the situation again.

"An affordable natural gas boiler that works well"
I bought my SlantFin boiler last year at the local Home Depot. I asked for an affordable boiler that was easy to use and the Home Depot salesman recommended the S-90EDP because it's in the middle range as far as price and BTU's go, plus it's easy to install. This was important to me because I am a new homeowner. I am satisfied with the high performance and how it saves fuel through the thermal targeting technology and pre-purge option. This is also important to me because we are on a budget and wanted a boiler that is environmentally friendly. So far I have not had any maintenance problems and there isn't anything to dislike about it. This is the first boiler that I have bought and I am not worried about replacing it any time soon because there is a 25 year warranty with it. I would recommend this boiler to a new home owner like myself. Thank you

- I have owned this Sentry boiler for 4 years, I bought it because it was supposed to have a longer life and Sentry is a trusted brand in this industry with a variety of products and services. - The unit is quiet and dependable, helps my energy bill by being a heavy duty, high effieciency model, and appears to be working properly. - The unit is Large, which is unfortunate in an apartment that it takes up a lot of space. - The unit has needed maintenance since it's original installation, but not a great deal of needed repairs over time. - When routine maintenance was needed, the Sentry customer service phone line and follow up was very helpful. - The unit was purchased at Home Depot and for the added charge came with a Home Depot warranty. - I would recommend this company and model number to a friend.

"Yet to Have a Problem With my Sentry Boiler"
This is the boiler I ordered as part of moving into my new home. I've only been at the new house for 3 months so I don't have an idea of how well this particular boiler is in the long-term. As of right now I am happy with it. One of the reasons I purchased it is because it runs on natural gas and this house actually has a natural gas tank buried underground outside. That is new for me as the last home did not have that. Anyway, I have never had a problem with the boiler heating water so far. It is quiet, and I have not run out of hot water ever. It's actually somewhat concealable compared to the water heater in my old house. This one is tucked in a corner behind a small wall. The last one almost needed its own room. I also don't use water like a madman but I have a family of 4. So a lot of hot water gets used. For the cost of the machine, I am extremely happy because it has not had any issues but it was a lot less expensive than many others that I saw when looking to purchase a boiler. So far I would say I am satisfied with the boiler but until it has been running for a year or so with no problems I cannot yet give an entirely full review. As of right now I am very happy with it. There have yet to be any repair needs, I have not seen any temperature extremes which is something I have seen in other hot water systems before. Also, it isn't going through gas as bad as I thought it may, so it seems to be pretty energy efficient.

Based on comments from online HVAC forums, the Sentry is regarded as a good unit. Consumers on terrylove.com and doityourself.com had problems with their Sentry boilers not heating correctly that were both determined to be caused by a circulator and not the unit itself.

The warranty for the Slant/Fin Sentry boiler is comprised of the following:
