Buderus Logamax Plus GB142 Boiler Overview

Nov 2009 $9650 for the burner and Super Store Stainless water tank installed. Feb 2013 $809 for new return connection pipe and lower locking nut and gaskets replacement due to leaks. May 2013 $2086 (that's two thousand eighty six dollars) for faulty Buderus header manifold that leaked. Aug 2014 Catastrophic heat exchange failure resulting in required replacement of entire unit as well as electrical components that got ruined due to leaking water and corrosion. I've asked my contractor for a price to put a new heating system that is not Buderus. Do not buy these machines!! They are over priced, unreliable crap!!!!

We have had a Logamax Plus GB112 for seven years now and it hasn't worked properly for more than one month ever since we've had it. Worse – the kind of customer service we have experienced from Bosch Thermotechnology is absolutely appalling. Whether it came from Bosch, Buderus or an affiliated company mysteriously called "MyService". From blunt denial, to ignoring or calls and mails, to having our wall demolished because it "had a negative impact on the outlet pipe" (sic!), to coming over for a "free check" and then sending us an umpteenth invoice – we have really had it all. Of all this, simply ignoring our calls for help is the worst. If one thing Buderus has surely cost me a few years of my life.

This boiler is four years old and the heat exchanger failed (so much for your experience Mr. J. Johnson in ct). This unit is used for radiant heat and domestic hot water. I have now gone over two weeks without hot water and Buderus is indicating it will be at least another 4 days. Thank goodness this did not happen during the winter or I would more than likely have thousands of dollars in damage to my house from frozen radiant heat lines. Stay away from Buderus and R. E. Michel Company.

I am not a plumber but hired a plumber to plumb my gb 142 and Buderus 80 gallon indirect storage tank. This little powerhouse provides DHW for my potables, and kicks ass for my radiant hydronic floors x 3000 square feet. Only after 4 years am I having to replace the $38 plastic condensate trap. I have never had to service anything prior. Its extremely reliable and has been idiot proof for the newbie that I am. The manuals are well written, and after reading them, I directed the plumber on the plumbing aspects since radiant heating systems are uncommon in Texas. Fired it up first time and no problems. I love it! Its an all in one wall hung system tidy and quiet, and packs a mean punch at a low monthly gas bill compared to the A.O. Smith it replaced.

I had a GB142 installed 4 years ago ran good for two years than nothing but trouble I have spent thousands first with the installer than a high efficiency boiler expert, it still continues to fail and I can't get any help from buderus. I have recommended several of these units and for that I am sorry I wouldn't buy another buderus for anything.
