BUDERUS G115 Boiler Overview

The Buderus G115 is a discontinued oil-fired, low-temperature cast iron boiler. The G115 had a heating capacity of 74,000, 98,000, and 120,000 BTU’s, depending on the model. Boiler water content ranged from 8.7 to 12.9 gallons, and the oil firing rate ranged from .60 to 1.0 GPH. The boiler featured an insulated jacket to reduce stand-by heat loss, and an optional Logamatic control managed most control functions of the heating system.

I am very surprised by the number of poor reviews of the Buduerus boilers. Being a heating tech myself and working on many different types of boilers, you will not find a better boiler. Almost every poor review I have read points to a lack of experience by the service tech installing or servicing the equipment. When you buy any boiler you need to ask questions, like: "How many do you have in the field?", "Do you carry replacement parts on your trucks?" When setup correctly, these units run quietly and efficiently. Find better techs.

Buderus 115 with side tank for hot water and logamatic controls. In a word, fantastic! Excellent performance, plenty of hot water, very frugal with fuel oil consumption. Great heat output. Burned a full 1/3 to 1/2 less oil than previous burner! I was even more surprised how little oil it used when I flipped the burner into summer mode! Only 50 gallons of fuel oil for 6 months of hot water. (April, May, June, July, August, October) I thought I needed a full tank, what a pleasant surprise! Wish I put it in sooner.
