It might be a good furnace, it was very expensive but the first winter we had 5 service calls. The furnace kept going into "lockout mode" There were several technicians here and it was finally determined that the propane pressure had not been set correctly. Lately, the furnace has been going into "blocked" mode. I traced out to technic am support twice, the did not respond so I reached out to the District Sales rep...his reply "There is nothing wrong with the furnace it is a cycle set by the installer" well the installer is not the one freezing when the furnace is cycling in blocked mode and they will not tell us how to change the parameters. Service calls are expensive. So maybe it is a good furnace just wish they knew how to install them correctly. .

Put a surge protector on your boiler. I have been a technician for 30 years. Your control board, GV relay, and inducer motor are all dc power. And don't do well with brownouts and power surges.

Nothing but issues, only 6 years old, replaced the mother board, and many low water value issues. Would not recommend to anyone.

"Start up is critical"
I work for a company that has installed many hundreds of these, maybe thousands. As with any high efficiency equipment, the start up and maintenance are critical. After reading some of these reviews, it is obvious many of these issues are due to the installers not following the manufacturer's procedures to dial in air and gas pressures and mixtures. Nearly every one of these problem boilers are due to an ignorant or just plain incompetent installer and/or service "technician". We have had great success with them. In eight years with this company, I have yet to hear one negative comment from a home owner about these boilers.

I have installed four of these machines after they were highly recommended by the plumbing supply company. The support is horrible, the customer service is horrible and the machines are garbage, from bad gas valves to bad circuit boards. Parts are expensive and hard to get. These machines will need to be replaced. I recommend staying far way from this company.

"Very unhappy customer"
Installed this boiler in the fall of 2012. I had some problems at first but got it working. It is now the start of the third heating season and I have had to replace the pump supplied by Lochinvar; the bearing went bad. Then the boiler failed to ignite. I changed the igniter and the wire to it, but it still would not start. Finally I was told that it was the control panel. I purchased a new control panel and the boiler went back to working. So far this season I have spent about $1400.00 on a three-year-old boiler to keep it working, none of which was under warranty. The boiler I removed was over twenty years old and the only repair I did on it was the thermocouple every couple of years. I've been a building contractor for over 45 years and have not had these kinds of problems with other boilers. I will not recommend a Lochinvar to any of my customers in the future. They have poor customer service and they do not stand behind their product.

I live in a 75 year old house in northern Wisconsin. The original boiler used 1000 gallons of oil a year and roared. I had the new one installed about 3 years ago and I love it. Not a single problem. Very quiet, efficient and the house is so much more comfortable.
