Overview of the GSB8-E

The Lennox GSB8-E is a gas-fired steam boiler with an efficiency rating of up to 83.9% AFUE. The GSB8-E features a cast iron heat exchanger designed for long lasting durability and titanium burners for increased resistance to corrosion. The unit's thick fiberglass insulation reduces energy loss while helping to lower sound levels. An electronic ignition control which turns the burner on only as needed and a vent damper that closes automatically when the boiler turns off both help to increase efficiency.

"Efficient and Long Lasting."
I have owned this boiler for about 14 months. I am extremely satisfied with it. I like that it came with 2 different manufacturer warranties. Both a 12-year warranty and a 5-year warranty for the heat exchanger and all parts respectively. I have absolutely no complaints about the boiler, because I have not had any problems with it nor have I had to have any repairs. I would recommend the same product to anyone who is currently looking to purchase a boiler for their home. I would also recommend the boiler as it is extremely reputable and carried quite a bit of weight with it. If you are looking to purchase a boiler to use in the home that you will live in for a long time or if you're looking to buy one and then sell the house this is a great option.

"Review of Lennox GSB8-E Boiler"
As a tenant, renting a home means accepting the appliances already installed on the property. The Lennox GSB8-E boiler proved to be an excellent machine. It is worth noting that the home in which the boiler is installed is old; the windows are old; the insulation is not fantastic; and the home is located in Michigan. This boiler operated efficiently, and quickly. Upon returning home and turning up the thermostat, one only had to wait a few minutes before noticing a pleasant difference. Utility bills were reasonable, and I feel this boiler's efficiency in heating a reasonably well-insulated house during cold Michigan winters played a large role in my overall monthly utility savings. My only complaint would be the noise level when the boiler is running. It is not too loud, however, and in a well-insulated home would probably be hardly noticeable. I would absolutely recommend this boiler to friends and family.

Other GSB8-E Reviews

There are very few online reviews of the GSB8-E on HVAC forums. A homeowner on heatinghelp.com asked for opinions regarding the GSB8-E and a comparable Weil-McLain unit. There was no clear favorite, with most responders saying that the installation and making sure the boiler is properly sized is more important than the brand, especially with steam.
