"Stay away from HTP"
As others have noted Heat Transfer Products does not stand behind their products at all. 4 year old Elite 120 and I've spent over $3000 on service, labor charges and broken parts in that period. Having seen it apart during numerous service calls the unit, in my opinion as an engineer, is very cheap and poorly constructed. On top of that, finding qualified service help less than 100 miles from HTP's headquarters is nearly impossible. Emerson Swann isn't much better and no one has parts. Unfortunately if you live where it is cold like I do in New Hampshire, you better get ready for frozen pipes because if the unit breaks on Thursday or Friday it won't get fixed until Monday or Tuesday. When it's 15 below zero even a well insulated home will succumb. I can't stress enough that you should not waste your money with HTP.

"No product can be worse"
Cost about 16,000 Canadian dollars and installed only 14 months ago in late October 2014. It broke down twice so far this winter before new year. Cost about 2,000 dollars to have it repaired, the mother board and circulation pump failed and were changed. I doubt if the manufacturer has confidence in its own product, it only offers a one-year warranty.

"Complete crap"
Run, run, run... Put a lock on your wallet and run. Heat Transfer Products is still Munchkins and their name change has not changed their piss-poor customer service, warranty, or quality of product. I have owned my $10,000 EL- 150N boiler for only two years and it just cost me another $1,000 because the computer board has gone out. Their warranty is only 1 year on 99% of all parts. Run, run, run. A coffee can with a chunk of coal is more effective and efficient. Protect yourself - they are a complete rip-off!

"What i like about my boiler"
I have recently moved into a new house and the boiler came with it. It has been 6 months that I have been living in this home and have had this boiler. I love this boiler so much. This has been a horrible and freezing winter and the Elite from HTP has really gotten the job done by keeping the house very hot. There is nothing I can really say bad about this boiler, I have never had any problems with it. I have never had to repair or replace any parts on the boiler, it has worked perfectly the whole time I have been living in this new house. I would recommend the HTP Elite boiler to anyone looking for an easy and very reliable machine. It keeps the house very warm and pleasant to be in, and it is very rare to find such a tedious machine that works as well as this one does.

"Poor design"
The field connection board is placed in a bad location. Moisture from the flue drips onto the board, shorting out the board. The first board was covered under warranty; however, 8 months later, it had the same problem. I am now replacing the board again.

"Worst Piece of Junk, Ever!"
I have never found any product so finicky. So truly unfit for sale. It maybe a great gift for your worst enemy. However, the repercussions may be lethal. I am having F05 and F03 codes? Any help would be nice. Tech support is overwhelmed and not calling back.

"Steven Whitbeck - BELTLINE HEATING"
Homer - I am betting that his problem is his venting. He has to replace blowers and 925 controls every two years. That is a classic symptom of exhaust gas recirculation. He needs to have at least 18 inches of vertical separation between the intake and the exhaust openings. Once again people - YOU NEED to read the old posts here. There is a lot of GOOD problem solving information in the old posts by some very intelligent repair contractors. Do yourself a BIG favor and learn from this site. DON'T just come here to bitch about equipment YOU had installed by the low bidder. And YOU didn't check him out. Ask the local supply house that sells boilers about who they would recommend to do YOUR boiler installation. They WILL know who is the best. Steve
